Saw smoke pouring out of a vintage yellow taxi in Saligao and had to pull over. Turns out, the entire boot has been converted into a live barbecue grill! 🔥🚖

This is Smoke Barbeque Taxi (originally a popular franchise from Karnataka), serving up fresh, sizzling street-side BBQ cooked right on the spot over hot coal. Perfect rainy weather comfort food that’s big on smoke, spice, and super light on the pocket. What we liked:

Paneer Tikka: Great smoky char for the veg crowd
(The owner and regulars also swear by the grilled pineapple, definitely on the list for next time!)

Started over 40 years ago in a small little hut serving Goa’s iconic chicken dish, by the late Florencio Caetano D’Costa, and now run by his son Hubert D'costa, this legendary family-run spot is pure nostalgia. While hundreds of places serve Cafreal today, Florentine does it differently. Their secret family masala is ground fresh inside their home every single day and plot twist: they use ZERO coriander! 🤫

Beyond the legendary Cafreal (still insanely priced at just ₹150 a quarter!), their Rawa Fried Prawns and Mussels are massively underrated! Fresh, perfectly cooked, and generous portions. Add in familiar faces like Tony and Sebastian, who’ve been serving here for over three decades, and every visit feels like coming home.
