⚠️ METABOLIC SYNDROME: ARE YOU AT RISK?
KNOW THE 5 RED FLAGS!

Metabolic syndrome is a cluster of health factors that can increase the risk of heart disease, stroke, and type 2 diabetes.

🧍 1. LARGE WAISTLINE
Excess abdominal fat is an important risk factor.

🩸 2. HIGH TRIGLYCERIDES
Elevated blood fats can increase cardiovascular risk.

❤️ 3. LOW HDL “GOOD” CHOLESTEROL
Lower HDL is associated with higher metabolic risk.

🩺 4. HIGH BLOOD PRESSURE
Persistently elevated blood pressure can strain the heart and blood vessels.

🩸 5. HIGH FASTING BLOOD SUGAR
May indicate impaired glucose regulation or insulin resistance.

💡 Health Tip: Having 3 or more of these risk factors generally meets the clinical definition of metabolic syndrome. Regular physical activity, a balanced diet, healthy weight management, good sleep, and medical monitoring can help reduce your risk.

🥬 2. LEAFY GREENS
Rich in antioxidants and nutrients that support a healthy inflammatory response.

🫐 3. BERRIES
Packed with antioxidants that support overall health.

🐟 4. FATTY FISH
Salmon, sardines & mackerel provide omega-3 fats, which support a healthy inflammatory response.

🧅 5. ONION & GARLIC
Contain beneficial plant compounds that support overall immune and respiratory health.

🍌 6. BANANAS
Provide potassium and other nutrients as part of a balanced diet.

🍉 7. WATER-RICH FOODS
Watermelon, cucumber & oranges can contribute to daily hydration.

💡 Health Tip: Snoring can have many causes, including nasal congestion, alcohol use, excess weight, and obstructive sleep apnea. If snoring is loud and persistent—especially with gasping, choking, or daytime sleepiness—talk to a healthcare professional rather than relying on diet alone.
