Stormwater drains in Chennai, like many other cities, face several challenges that impact their performance.
The main reason is that these stormwater drains face inefficiency due to inadequate capacity, exacerbated by blockages from debris and encroachments, and worsened by poor maintenance, hindering water entry and leading to flooding during heavy rains. Addressing these issues requires a drastic design change
Water tree specialises in rainwater harvesting, storm water management & water management. Our proposed design aims to enhance stormwater drain efficiency by increasing entry points for water and maximizing underground percolation. This approach seeks to alleviate flooding by allowing more efficient drainage and groundwater recharge, addressing the root causes of inefficiency in Chennai's stormwater management system.
