Sugar Monkeys is the creation of a passionate home baker who loves the sweet rush in life! There’s an interesting tale behind the name. There’s never been a better way to beat post-college blues than with sugar. And so every morning, once my mom was done with her cooking, I would look up random baking recipes online and try replicating them. At the end of the day my mom would say ,"Look at my kitchen! It looks like a monkey was let loose in here!" Clearly, the name was a no-brainer. Soon, I wasn’t just baking for myself anymore. My friends and family were willing lab rats for my experimental bakes. And as fate would have it, they were hooked! As for my own lovestory with ‘sugar’, it stemmed from an old cliché - I grew up watching my grandmom and aunts baking. My fondest memory is of the mud cakes they prepared in a pressure cooker! A secret family recipe that Sugar Monkeys will happily bake for you. And that’s not all. Baked this massive 12 kg eggless chocolate truffle cake to celebrate Mr. Uvaraj Natarajan (Founder & CEO of Poorvika Mobiles) birthday.

From baking to frosting to all the detailing and décor — we put this entire cake together in less than 5 hours and had it ready to leave for ECR this morning! 🙌🏼

Close to 2 feet in length, this was definitely one of those cakes that made us stop and go, “Okay… we actually did that!” 😍

Made as a last-minute surprise for a husband turning 35, this little celebration was inspired by all his favourites—coffee, PlayStation, and Apple.

Inside was an eggless coffee-flavoured cake, made from scratch and finished with a sleek black buttercream design and touches of gold for a simple yet elegant look.

When we heard that birthday girl Riya absolutely loves carrots and fruits, we knew her first birthday cake had to celebrate exactly that.

This two-tier beauty was an eggless chocolate cake layered with a luscious strawberry purée filling, finished in smooth buttercream and decorated with all her favourite fruits and veggies. From cheerful carrots to juicy berries and tropical fruits, every detail was chosen to make her very first celebration extra special.
