Arulville: Exposure Visit
An exposure visit to Arulville, an eco-tourism site that promotes sustainable living and eco-friendly practices, was arranged for 31 coordinators. The purpose of the visit is to show coordinators up-close experience of a lifestyle based on environmental awareness and related to the vision of Karma Yoga project.
We were struck by Arulville's calm as soon as we arrived. The retreat was a delicious match of raw nature and native design. The site’s carving of the earth buildings, Amphitheatre, yoga studio, and its use of “less is more style” showed how deeply it was built using climate-sensitive techniques and sustainability practices.
The coordinators were taken to tour the facilities and introduced to the principles of sustainable architecture and ecofriendly living. We gained a lot of understanding on practices to reduce ecological footprints, live well with the nature and mindful living.
The exposure visit was highly useful to us as Karma Yoga coordinators. It inspired us to think about how we could infuse aspects of sustainability and minimalism into our work and programs. It also emphasized the significance of advocating for similar eco-friendly practices in our communities.
On our return, we stopped at the beautiful Odiyur Lake to catch some amazing sunset. The tranquility of the lakeside with Arulville's calm atmosphere was ingrained in all of our hearts.
Overall, it was an educational and deeply inspiring visit, motivating us to continue fostering sustainable practices in our Karma Yoga activities.
