This is not what a normal war looks like.

When an entire land is reduced to rubble, when nearly every family is forced from its home, and when children make up such a devastating share of the dead, the world cannot keep hiding behind soft language and political excuses.

At some point, “conflict” becomes too small a word. “Self-defense” becomes too hollow. “Collateral damage” becomes an insult to the victims.

We are talking about neighborhoods erased, hospitals overwhelmed, parents digging through debris, children buried before they ever had the chance to grow up, and a population pushed from one place to another with nowhere truly safe to go.

History will not remember the carefully worded statements. It will remember who stayed silent, who justified it, and who had the courage to name it.

It is time to be honest about the reality of what we are witnessing. Call it what it is: genocide.
