A proud moment for Himalayan Basket.

At a recent Dairy Department program in Dehradun, our CEO, Sumit Kumar Thapliyal, was felicitated by Hon’ble Cabinet Ministers Sir Saurabh Bahuguna and Sir Khajan Das.

The event marked a strong push towards strengthening Uttarakhand’s dairy ecosystem, with a clear focus on scale, technology, and fair value for producers. It was also a moment to recognise individuals and enterprises working closely with local communities to bring high-quality hill produce to larger markets.

For us, this recognition is deeply tied to the farmers and partners we work with every day in the hills. Their commitment to quality and authenticity is what makes this journey meaningful.

We remain focused on building from the ground up, creating value for local communities while taking the purity of the mountains to a wider audience.

We are proud to share that Himalayan Basket has won a government grant through IIM Kashipur’s Foundation for Innovation & Entrepreneurship Development (FIED) under the RKVY-RAFTAAR Agri-Business Incubation Program, which supports agri-tech startups with grants of up to ₹25 lakhs.

The journey came through the FIED Saksham program, an intensive, hands-on experience that required us to attend structured classes led by IIM professors. Selected startups received close mentorship from industry experts and IIM faculty, which helped sharpen both strategy and ex*****on.

We are deeply thankful to Ram Kumar sir CEO, FIED IIM Kashipur, and Anuj Thapliyal, who ran the program flawlessly and supported founders at every step.

At IIM Kashipur today for their FIED event along with many other inspirational startups from Uttarakhand. FIED is an initiative to nurture and strengthen the entrepreneurship ecosystem in multiple focus areas such as Agriculture, Education, Art and Craft, Ayurveda.

The real MVP here is 'Chintu', the campus pup, who decided to be our biggest fan for the day. He went straight for our Churpi and did not stop munching. Safe to say we have a new friend.

Proud moment for us - Himalayan Basket was invited to the Uttarakhand Nivesh Utsav 2025 in Rudrapur, graced by Union Home Minister Amit Shah and CM Pushkar Singh Dhami.

We were part of the groundbreaking ceremony, representing businesses that are already doing the work envisioned during the Investor Summit—creating rural jobs, supporting local producers, and building sustainable businesses in the hills.

Born in Champawat, rooted in community, Himalayan Basket is committed to turning promises into progress—one village, one farmer, one product at a time.

Yesterday, we spent some time interacting with the talented kids of Johar Club, Munsiyari and it was such an enriching experience.

Training regulary, these young kids have been winning most of the boxing matches they participate in. It's so heartwarming to see such talent in the hills and they are being coached with love and discipline.

We wish and hope for their bright future and will continue to stay associated in whatever capacity we can.
