Mothers often rely on milk as a wholesome source of nutrients for their children. However, in today's commercialized milieu, various factors like dilution, preservatives, artificial growth hormones, contamination, inhumane treatment of animals, poor hygiene, etc. have brought into question the quality of milk that is commercially available. Three mothers (and friends), Ruchi Walia, Shweta Aggarwal & Vidhya Kala, battled with the same challenges that every mother deals with - Can I trust the milk I feed my children & family?. With the unparalleled commitment to overcome this challenge, Ruchi, Shweta & Vidhya, with the blessings and support of their friends and families, started their own dairy farm in 2018. In addition to solving this problem for themselves, they have also paved the way for creating a sustainable source of pure, healthy, and wholesome milk for several other similar families. Not only do the three mothers personally manage and oversee the dairy, they also nurture their families and children selflessly.
It is an undisputable reality that the prosperity and growth of any nation is predicated on the status and development of its women. Women contribute to nearly 60% of labor in the dairy farming industry in India. Additionally, women also play pivotal roles in agriculture, animal husbandry and allied occupations that support dairy farming. In-fact, women support a variety of tasks (feeding, breeding, management, health-care, processing, marketing, etc.), in the dairy industry. However, most of this work happens in the background (invisible), is considered an extension of domestic activity, and it is often underestimated and undervalued.
At Masers Grandpaa, we are delighted to be an organization that was founded by women, is run/managed by women, and supported by women across the nation. We seek to empower women by creating awareness, mobilizing women workers, creating greater visibility for women working in dairy farming, and support women as they contribute to the national development. We believe in fostering equal opportunity for women (on all fronts - training, growth, employment & compensation), and pride ourselves in being a female dominated enterprise.
