India’s Dairy Sector Gets ₹1,166 Crore Boost Under PM Modi’s Initiative
The Government of India has announced a major investment of ₹947 crore in completed projects and the laying of a ₹219 crore foundation project, aimed at strengthening the livestock and dairy sector
Prime Minister Narendra Modi as part of the Pradhan Mantri Dhan-Dhanya Krishi Yojana (PM-DDKY) and the Mission for Aatmanirbharta in Pulses
✅Mehsana District Co-operative Milk Producers' Union Limited, Gujarat
→ ₹460 crore project with a 120 TPD Milk Powder Plant and 3.5 LLPD UHT Milk Plant
✅Indore Milk Union, Madhya Pradesh
→ ₹76.5 crore 30 TPD Milk Powder Plant
✅Bhilwara Milk Union, Rajasthan
→ ₹46.82 crore 25,000 LPD UHT Milk Plant
✅Karimnagar Milk Producer Company
→ ₹25.45 crore 150 TPD Curd Plant
✅Shreeja Milk Producer Organization
→ Foundation stone laid for Integrated Dairy Plant and 200 TPD Cattle Feed Plant worth ₹219 crore
✅Focus on Livestock Health
→ Over 125 crore free vaccinations have been administered under PM-DDKY to prevent diseases like Foot and Mouth Disease, improving animal health and reducing farmer losses
✅Diversification of Rural Livelihoods
→ The PM emphasized animal husbandry, fisheries, and beekeeping as alternative income sources for small and landless farmers, promoting rural prosperity
✅Indira IVF Group Laboratory in Guwahati
→ First in the North-East, established under the Rashtriya Gokul Mission with an investment of Rs 313.76 crore, to support breed improvement and dairy development
✅AHIDF Projects
→ 10 projects worth ₹303.81 crore inaugurated to boost feed, milk, and animal product processing capacities
✅MAITRI Certification Drive
→ Certificates awarded to 2,000 newly trained MAITRIs in Uttar Pradesh.
Over 38,000 MAITRIs inducted across India to strengthen artificial insemination services and improve livestock genetics
