On the platter:
* Plain rice (Khampti Lahi)
* Smoked pork stew
* Alu pitika (mashed potatoes)
* Togor phool pokori (flower fritters)
* Steamed baby cabbage
* Boiled daal

April to May, especially during Bohag Maah, is when togor flowers bloom beautifully across Assam. Their delicate white petals and soothing fragrance bring a quiet freshness to the season.

What many don’t know is that togor phool also makes incredibly delicious pokoris—and the recipe is wonderfully simple.

Traveling to a different part of the world and embracing everything that felt new, unique, and unforgettable — here’s a short glimpse of what that trip was all about.

As part of our pre-planned itinerary, we decided to cook an Assamese–Filipino meal during the trip. Sitting down to home cooked steamed rice, smoked pork, masoor daal , and alu pitika alongside a spread of home cooked Filipino dishes was truly a lifetime experience 😍
