The MA-104 Cell-Based Live Attenuated African Swine Fever (ASF) Vaccine for Pigs, developed by ICAR–National Institute of High Security Animal Diseases (NIHSAD), Bhopal, was launched during the 98th Foundation Day of ICAR.

African Swine Fever (ASF) is a highly contagious viral disease affecting pigs. Following Vietnam, India has now developed its own indigenous ASF vaccine, using an Indian field isolate of the ASF virus. This marks a significant milestone in strengthening disease preparedness, safeguarding pig health, and advancing self-reliance in livestock disease control through scientific innovation.
