Enchanted Forest Farm is an 18 acre forest farmstay, located in Parbing-Ranka, a scenic village near Gangtok, Sikkim. It is a quiet and non-touristy getaway for those offbeat travellers and wanderers. It is a fully running farm with accommodation for guests. Guests are welcomed into the farm by the singing of birds and the sound of the enchanting waterfall nearby and of course – an invigorating fresh mountain air. The farm provides guests with a serene ambience so that they can soak in its calmness and unwind. It is a perfect place for nature lovers who want a tranquil stay away from the hustle bustle yet not so far from the town. You can see Gangtok town in all its glory as well as lush green forest that dots the landscape. As it is a farm, you get to see a lot of things happening here. Firstly, we are an organic farm and therefore, we grow our own food. In that way are pretty much self sufficient. We also have a fish pond in the farm. The presence of cows and goats make our farm complete. Enchanted Forest farm provides guests with the right ambience for relaxation and fun. Our cottages and cabins are made in such a way so as to provide our guests with utmost comfort and relaxation.
Since the farm is spread over 18 acres, one can do a variety of things. Such a big forested area is all for you to enjoy.
Organic Farming:
Guests can get involved in farming and learn the processes involved in growing food organically. There is nothing like harvesting naturally grown veggies and fruits. Since we raise cattle (cows and goats) at the farm, guests can also get involved in feeding them and learn the process of milking the cows.
Village walk and nature walk:
You can go hiking to a stream near the property. The stream is fed by some beautiful waterfalls that will leave you amazed. You can also try angling there or just take a dip in it and relax. There are many hiking areas around the farm. You can also go on a village walk and get to know the local culture. You also get to experience the rich and diverse vegetation of Sikkim through these walks.
Birdwatching:
Our farm is a heaven for birdwatchers. The farm is blessed with beautiful avian population. You can spot a variety of birds in their natural habitat and undisturbed. Bird-watching tours can be arranged upon prior request.
BBQ and bonfire:
We can also arrange for BBQ and bonfire. Sit near the bonfire, sing, eat and enjoy and as you look up, you see stars gazing at you beautifully. You can fulfil you stargazing dream with breathtaking views of the night sky.
If adventure is your thing, paragliding spot is just a stone’s throw away. Or you can simply grab a book and relax in the hammock watching the clouds roll over you.
Accomodation:
Our cottages and cabins are made in such a way so as to provide our guests with utmost comfort and relaxation. The accommodation is dispersed so that guests can have privacy as well as roam freely and be quite alone. We have one cottage named Walnut and a cabin named Alder. Walnut is a double occupancy luxury cottage with all the basic amenities. It is made up of ‘Igra’ or bamboo plastered with cement. It is a traditional method of house building using widely in the North-Eastern part of India. Alder is a small log cabin with two rooms and shared bathroom that can accommodate three guests. All bathrooms have hot and cold running water. There are no TV sets in the farm. This is because we want to provide our guests with a true farm feel so that that can connect with Mother Nature during their stay. Nevertheless, we do provide free Wi-Fi so that guests can stay connected with their family and friends. We have placed travel books and magazines featuring Sikkim so that they can gain more knowledge about this beautiful state. All rooms provide panoramic views of the lush green forest. Almost 70% of the raw materials used in these structures have been procured locally from the farm. At Enchanted Forest Farm, we treat each guest as our own family member and look into their specific needs.
