NEER Promoting Rainwater Harvesting & Artificial
Recharge to Groundwater for the Benefit of Masses
Save Water Every Drop is Precious.

Save Water Every Drop is precious. Water crisis is common in urban and rural areas even for domestic needs. This is more felt in urban areas due to population concentration. In hilly areas even though water is available in limited quantity yet crises is felt due to drying up of the sources. Rainfall is the only source of water in major part of the country. Rainwater harvesting is the only solution

to mitigate the water crises as copious volume of water goes waste during the rainy season. Ground water has been the source of water during the crises be it a flood or drought. The harvested rainwater can either be stored in surface tanks or in the sub-surface reservoir as ground water which can be used at the place and time of need. Presently ground water caters around 80% of domestic need of water. As ground water is assured source, the dependence has increased many fold resulting in drying up of wells, reduced discharge and failure of wells.
