Mohini Dey is a name synonymous with extraordinary talent, fearless expression and the evolution of modern Indian music. As one of India’s most celebrated bass guitarists, she has redefined the role of the bass in contemporary music with her technical brilliance and electrifying stage presence.
From a young age she displayed remarkable musical ability, training rigorously under her father a musician himself. Her dedication and discipline laid a strong foundation allowing her to master complex techniques and develop a distinctive style that blends jazz, fusion, funk, and Indian classical influences.

Her journey is defined by passion and perseverance. At a time when instrumental music, especially bass guitar, was rarely in the spotlight, Mohini stepped forward with confidence and carved her own path.
She has performed alongside global icons such as A.R. Rahman and Zakir Hussain earning international recognition for her artistry and stage command.
