Don’t drink cold water after eating.” We’ve all heard this growing up. But is it actually true?💧

According to Ayurveda, drinking very cold water immediately after a meal may temporarily affect Agni, often described as the body’s digestive fire.

But here’s the important part: "cold water isn’t poison." The timing, quantity, and your individual digestion matter.

Ayurveda generally considers "room-temperature or slightly warm water" during or after meals to be more supportive of digestion.

So instead of completely avoiding cold water, think about "what your body responds to and how much you’re drinking." 🌿

Small habits can make a difference when you understand the reasoning behind them.

The first sign of perimenopause might not be a hot flash. It might be something you’ve been ignoring for months.

Perimenopause doesn’t always arrive with an obvious warning.

Sometimes, it starts quietly, with sleep becoming harder, moods feeling different, periods shifting by a few days, or your body suddenly reacting differently to heat.

These changes can be subtle enough to blame on stress, work, age, or a busy routine.

But when they start happening together, it may be worth paying attention.

This carousel covers 5 early signs of perimenopause that are easy to overlook—and why recognizing them early can help you have a better conversation with your gynecologist.

Don’t just normalize every change your body makes. Listen to it. 🌿

Your gut isn’t just about digestion… it may be connected to your mood too. 🧠

Ayurveda recognized the importance of Agni, or digestive strength, thousands of years ago. Today, modern science studies the gut-brain axis the constant communication between your digestive system and your brain.

When digestion is out of balance, it’s not always just gas, bloating or constipation. Some people may also notice changes in mood, energy, focus or stress levels.

The vagus nerve also plays an important role in communication between the brain and various organs.

So, gut health isn’t something we should think about only when our stomach hurts. ❤️

Take care of your digestion. Your gut is an important part of your overall well-being.

Have you ever noticed that when your stomach feels off, your mood and energy change too? 👇

Still feeling thirsty even after drinking plenty of water? 💧

The problem may not always be how much water you drink, but "how you drink it".

Gulping down a large amount of very cold water at once can feel refreshing, but it may not be the most comfortable way to hydrate. Instead of chugging, try small, regular sips throughout the day.

💧 A simple hydration rhythm:
• Start your morning with a glass of water
• Sip regularly instead of waiting until you're very thirsty
• Have water between meals
• Drink more around workouts, heat, or sweating
• Keep water accessible so sipping becomes automatic

And remember, hydration needs vary based on your activity, climate, diet, and individual needs.

Don’t wait until you're completely drained to hydrate. Make it a habit, not a rescue plan. 💧

Your period isn’t just “those 5 days.” Your body is changing throughout the entire cycle. 🌿

Most of us track only the date our period starts and ends. But your menstrual cycle is much more than a calendar reminder.

From the "menstrual phase" to "ovulation" and the "luteal phase," hormone levels, energy, mood, and cravings can shift throughout the month.

Here’s a simple breakdown of the 4 phases of the menstrual cycle, along with the Ayurvedic perspective of Vata, Pitta, and Kapha.

The important takeaway?

Your body doesn’t need the same routine every day.

Some days may call for rest.
Some may feel more energetic.
Some may bring changes in mood, appetite, or focus.

Instead of fighting those changes, start paying attention to them. ❤️

Save this for your next cycle and share it with someone who needs to understand her body better.

Grandma’s remedies aren’t always just old wives’ tales 👵🌿

Some traditional remedies actually have a practical basis, while others can do more harm than good.

Here’s what to know:

❄️ Cold + ice: Cold can help reduce inflammation and discomfort, especially with minor swelling.

🧊 Ice directly on acne: Not the best idea. Direct ice can irritate the skin. A warm compress may be more helpful for certain painful, deep pimples.

🧈 Ghee for dry sinuses: This relates to the Ayurvedic practice of "Nasya", where herbal oils or preparations are traditionally used through the nasal passages. However, putting ghee or oils inside the nose isn't suitable for everyone, so proper guidance matters.

The takeaway?

Traditional wisdom can be valuable, but “natural” doesn’t automatically mean “safe,” and not every remedy works for every person.

Save this for the next time Grandma gives you a health tip! 🌿

Burnout doesn’t start the day you break down.

It starts much earlier, with signs most of us ignore.

You might tell yourself, “I’m just tired.”
But your body may already be asking you to slow down.

Here are 3 signs you shouldn’t ignore 👇

1. You start losing interest in things you once enjoyed.
Even simple tasks begin to feel heavy, and motivation slowly disappears.

2. You get sick more often.
Constant stress and exhaustion can leave your body feeling run down.

3. You start snapping at small things.
Things that normally wouldn’t bother you suddenly feel overwhelming.

From an Ayurvedic perspective, this can be connected to Vata imbalance or depletion, especially when there’s too much stress, irregular routines, lack of rest and constant mental stimulation.

The problem is, we often wait until our body completely forces us to stop.

But burnout usually whispers before it screams.

So if you’ve been feeling constantly exhausted lately, don’t just push harder.

Pause. Rest. Nourish yourself. Create a little more space to breathe. 🌿

Your body isn’t being lazy.

It might simply be asking for recovery.

Have you noticed any of these signs recently? 👇

Unpopular opinion: Intermittent fasting isn’t healthy for everyone. 👀

Just because fasting worked for someone you know doesn’t mean your body will respond the same way.

According to Ayurveda, your body type and current imbalance matter.

Here’s why 👇

🌿 Vata-dominant people: may struggle with long fasting periods. Their bodies can be more sensitive to irregular eating, which may lead to things like low energy, excessive hunger, irritability or feeling unsettled.

🔥 Pitta-dominant people: may also find extreme fasting challenging. Going too long without food can sometimes increase acidity, irritation and intense hunger.

🌱 Kapha-dominant people: on the other hand, may generally tolerate lighter meals or longer gaps between meals better.

But here’s the important part:

Ayurveda doesn’t believe in blindly following one diet rule for everyone.

Your digestion, energy levels, lifestyle, body constitution and overall health all matter.

So before jumping on the intermittent fasting trend, ask yourself:

Is this actually working for my body, or am I just forcing myself to follow a trend?

Because what works for one person can feel completely wrong for another.

Health is personal. Your food habits should be too. 🌿

Have you tried intermittent fasting? Did it actually make you feel better? Let me know in the comments 👇
