Our Story

Gwalior - the one with the glorious past. A heritage carefully safeguarded and evident in its monuments which stand tall, the vibrant culture and of course, the unadulterated taste of its local food. Be it the mythical tale of how the town derived its name, the directions to Phool Bagh, the legend behind the beautiful sculptures inside Gwalior Fort or its imprints on the global map owing to associations with Tansen, Baiju Bawra or Amjad Ali Khan, talk to any local and you can sense the pride of belonging here.

A place where history holds such huge importance, every narrative about this city is incomplete without a mention of its food. While there are many things from the kitchens of Gwalior that have gone on to become extremely popular, there’s one such item which has attained legendary status- Gwalior Ki Gajak. This rich confection traditionally made from sesame and jaggery finds its roots to the historic era where gajak in its raw, unprocessed form was consumed as a source of nutrition by the royal troops to now being manufactured in different variations at state-of-the-art facilities and sourced worldwide.

We, the people of Gwalior, have found recognition and glory in gajak and working towards promoting its decadent taste and interesting legacy to the far-flung corners of the world. And at Shahi Food Products, we have been privileged to be a part of this movement. Four and a half decades of presence marked by excellent craftsmanship, a penchant for pioneering, curious experimentation, down to earth service. And adding to the sweetness has been the love and support of our people who have been a part of this tasteful journey.

Established in 1976, Shahi Food Products made its beginning with making Shahi Gajak.
