हमने यह लेख पढ़ा और बहुत अच्छा पाया। हिमाचल में भी हमें ऐसी ही स्थिति देखने को मिलती है।
क्या यह सेब के बागों के अस्तित्व की लड़ाई है? या यह सिर्फ़ सेब की नर्सरी रूटस्टोक और कलमे बेचने वालों के लिए मोटी कमाई का ज़रिया है? बदलाव प्रकृति का नियम हैं लेकिन बदलाव को अगर अनिवार्यता और एक मात्र विकल्प के रूप प्रस्तुत किया जाए तो इसका प्रभाव निश्चित ही सकारात्मक नहीं होगा। अब प्रश्न यह उठता है कि शिमला सेब से प्रसिद्ध सेब की बहुल किस्म धारीदार रॉयल , रेड , रिचर्ड, आदि सेब की किस्म जो अपने स्वाद के लिये जानी जाती हैं क्या ये बदलाव के इस दौर में हमेशा के लिये विलुप्त हो जाएगी। आज के दौर में बाजार की मांग ओर प्रचलित सेब किस्में जो विश्व के अनेकों देशों से आयात की जा रही है उसके बीच ये पारंपरिक किस्में नजर नहीं आती। क्या हमें बदलाव के साथ इन किस्मों को छोड़ देना चाहिए? वर्तमान बाजार मांग को देखते हुए आधुनिक किस्म कितनी सही है इसका परिणाम दीर्घकालिक है आधुनिकीकरण को पूरी तरह अपनाना जहां उत्पादन के लिए घातक हो सकता है वहीं इससे उत्पादन खर्चे में भी अधिक वृद्धि होगी।
