Reality: Processing matters significantly. Refined, bleached, and deodorized (RBD) oils are processed with high heat and chemicals, which can strip nutrients. High-quality options like Virgin Coconut Oil or Cold Pressed Coconut Oil are cold-pressed and unrefined, retaining more natural antioxidants and aroma.
Myth: It is a "miracle" weight loss solution.
Reality: While coconut oil contains Medium Chain Triglycerides (MCTs) that are metabolized quickly for energy, it is still high in calories (about 120 per tablespoon). Simply adding it to your diet without other changes won't cause weight loss; it works best as a replacement for other fats in a balanced diet.
Myth: Coconut oil is universally bad for your heart.
