the foundation of a wildlife jungle lodge, but this plan was eventually dropped out. Bagdara Farms is a journey that narrates the tale of that one major turn that ended up bringing us to the world of organic farming, along with the formation of a beautiful farming family. After seeing the deplorable condition of the villagers and local tribals living within the forest reserves, we decided to do something for them that would bring a difference in their lives. With the intention of upgrading the standards of the local villagers and tribe in our hearts, we came up with the idea of engaging the villagers and tribals in an activity that they are best at, that is farming with an aim for each to have sustainable income and good living. Today we are much ahead of where we started from and the Bagdara Farm Family is now over 50,000 people strong globally. People depend on our products for Life Threatening Chronic Diseases and with every changing life, we get motivated to start another such revolutionary effort.

Last night, in pouring rain, a heavy Mahua branch crashed onto our kitchen roof.

There was no fire brigade around the corner, no easy help, no dry ground to work on.

Just us, the rain and the jungle.

This is life at Bagdara.
The same difficult land where we live is where our haldi grows.

Maybe that is why our faith in it is so deep. We do not just sell this land’s produce. We live its reality every day.

Every monsoon, Bandhavgarh teaches us the same lesson: you cannot control nature.
You can only respect it.

The rains decide when the roads will remain open. The forest decides how difficult the day will be. Animals move through the same landscape where we cultivate our haldi.

And still, below the ground, the turmeric keeps growing.
This is why our confidence in Bagdara haldi does not come from advertising.

It comes from watching the crop season after season.

From touching the soil.
From digging out the roots.

From curing them carefully.

And from knowing that when a Bagdara Farms root finally reaches somebody's home, we can tell them exactly where it came from.

There are certainly easier places in India to grow turmeric.

Places with better roads, electricity nearby, easier transport and fewer wild animals.
We chose Bagdara.

During the monsoon, the forest becomes even more difficult. Rain can change the road within hours. The grass grows tall and the jungle closes around us.
Yet our haldi continues growing below the soil.

For us, that has become part of its character.
We do not expect anyone to have faith in

Bagdara Farms because we make big promises.
We want that faith to come from smaller things — knowing the farm, knowing the root, knowing how it was cultivated and knowing that the people selling it are the same people who grew it.

In a market full of turmeric, sometimes knowing the source is everything.

At Bagdara, we do not see empty land waiting to be developed—we see a place already alive. A modest brick building with bright blue windows stands amid dense groundcover, young trees and mature woodland, connected to the landscape by a narrow, moss-lined path. A Hindi voice speaks of this as a place where people have lived, giving the site a powerful sense of continuity.

That is Bagdara Farms’ greatest asset. The building can become the farm’s human heart—a home, kitchen, learning centre or guest house—while the surrounding vegetation forms the foundation of a productive, regenerative landscape. Bagdara Farms would not impose itself on the land; it would work with what is already here, creating food, livelihoods and meaningful rural experiences without erasing the site’s memory. Most farm stories begin at harvest. This one begins with what brands usually crop out: the wide, green field between milestones. The camera moves slowly; a voice stays close to the land; old trees, mixed ground cover and a monsoon sky remain in view.

At Bagdara Farms, this is deliberate. We do not ask one beautiful crop to carry the entire story. The condition of the whole landscape matters—the spaces between plants, the life covering the soil, and the ordinary days when nothing is being packaged or sold.
