“Mess-style” chicken curry

Ingredients:
500g chicken (with bone preferred)
2 medium potatoes (cut in halves) 🥔
2 onions (thinly sliced)
1 tomato (chopped)
1 tbsp ginger-garlic paste
mustard oil (or any oil)
1 tsp turmeric powder
1 tsp red chili powder
1 tsp coriander powder
½ tsp cumin powder
1–2 green chilies (slit)
Salt to taste
2–3 cups water (for thin gravy)
