Every child is born close to nature.

Today, the children of Premashraya, Tata Medical Centre, reminded us not to lose that connection.

At HariMitti, we believe in Mutualism—the simple truth that life flourishes when we grow together. We arrived carrying terrariums, micro microscopes, binoculars, telescopes and stories, hoping to share the wonders of nature.

But within moments, the children became our teachers.

Curious eyes peered through microscopes to discover tiny worlds. Little hands gently held living terrariums. Smiles grew wider as binoculars and telescopes opened new windows to the world around them. For a while, the room was filled not with illness, but with laughter, wonder and endless questions.

That is the quiet power of nature.

It asks nothing in return, yet it awakens curiosity, brings people together and gently reminds us to hope.

We are deeply grateful to Dr. Sanjay Kapoor, Deputy Director, Tata Medical Centre, for his encouragement, and to Ms. Sudeshna Dutt (AGM, Premashraya) for making this beautiful morning possible. Our sincere thanks also go to every doctor, caregiver and volunteer who lovingly stand beside these remarkable children every day.

Today reminded us that Mutualism is more than a concept in nature—it is a way of living. We went to inspire. We returned inspired.

Thirty Days Later…

One month after World Environment Day, the HariMitti MiniNature team returned to Electrosteel to revisit the tiny biospheres lovingly entrusted to their guardians.

The biospheres were thriving—but what truly touched our hearts were the smiling faces of their guardians. Employees proudly shared the small changes they had observed, proving that these miniature ecosystems had become much more than glass jars; they had become living companions.

At HariMitti MiniNature, we believe when we nurture nature, nature quietly nurtures us in return.

Our heartfelt gratitude to Electrosteel for embracing a culture where environmental stewardship and employee well-being grow together.

Every thriving biosphere is more than a miniature forest—it is a seed of Mutualism, reminding us that caring for even the smallest living world inspires us to care more deeply for one another and for our planet.

HariMitti Nature Club Featured in Assam Print Media

We are humbled to see the work of HariMitti Nature Club featured in Assam newspapers.

Print media remains one of the most trusted and powerful voices in society, carrying stories that educate, inspire and create lasting impact. This recognition encourages us to continue our mission of reconnecting children with nature through science, observation and hands-on learning.
What began in Assam is gradually growing into a pan-India movement. Through microscopes, biospheres, biodiversity exploration and citizen science activities, HariMitti Nature Club is helping young minds rediscover the joy of asking questions, understanding nature and becoming responsible custodians of the planet.

Swami Vivekananda Kendriya Vidyalaya, Tiloi, Moran, Assam

A day of science, ecology, and inspiration.

Our programme at Swami Vivekananda Kendriya Vidyalaya opened with Shri Suhrid Chandra’s session on “Mutualism – The Language of Nature,” where students explored the invisible partnerships that connect every living system.

This was followed by an inspiring online interaction with Dr Ramendralal Mukherjee—scientist, inventor, and educator—who shared his personal journey, scientific innovations, and the importance of STEM education in shaping the innovators and problem-solvers of tomorrow.

The students were particularly fascinated by the Terrarium Biosphere, a miniature self-sustaining ecosystem designed by Mr Bikash Maiti. Through this living model, they observed rain cycles, decomposition, nutrient flow, and microarthropods carrying out nature’s work. The HariMitti team demonstrated how the same principles govern forests, rivers, and ecosystems across the world.

Micromicroscopes and binocular field observations further transformed learning into an immersive experience.

HariMitti expresses its sincere gratitude to Professor Khanindra Pathak of IIT Kharagpur, whose encouragement helped turn a vision into a journey that began in Assam.

The climate-mitigation and environmental education initiatives led by Shri Suhrid Chandra and HariMitti have also received encouraging appreciation from newspapers, media platforms, and environmental educators.

Sri Sri Ravishankar Vidya Mandir(SSRVM), Bongaigaon, Assam
Education becomes truly meaningful when curiosity meets experience.

Our interaction at Sri Sri Ravishankar Vidya Mandir began with a thought-provoking session by Shri Suhrid Chandra on “Mutualism – The Language of Nature.” Students explored how forests, birds, insects, fungi, and even human societies thrive through cooperation and interconnectedness.

The programme was enriched by a special online lecture from Dr Ramendralal Mukherjee—scientist, inventor, educator, and lifelong learner—who shared his inspiring journey, scientific innovations, and vision for STEM education. His interaction encouraged students to look beyond textbooks and embrace the spirit of inquiry.

The highlight of the day was the Terrarium Biosphere, a living tabletop ecosystem designed by environmentalist and biophilic designer Mr Bikash Maiti. Students watched with amazement as rainfall, nutrient cycling, decomposition, and microarthropods revealed the hidden workings of nature. The HariMitti team demonstrated how this tiny biosphere mirrors the larger ecosystems that sustain our planet.

Students also explored the world through binocular field observation and micromicroscopes, discovering both distant and microscopic dimensions of life.

At Dibrugarh University Model School, learning moved beyond classrooms and textbooks into the living world around us.

The programme began with Shri Suhrid Chandra’s engaging session on Mutualism, helping students understand that life on Earth is built upon relationships, cooperation, and ecological balance.

The highlight of the day was the Terrarium Biosphere, designed by environmentalist and biophilic designer Mr Bikash Maiti. This tiny living world revealed rainfall, nutrient cycling, decomposition, microarthropods, and ecological balance in action. The HariMitti team carefully demonstrated how these natural processes connect to the larger ecosystems that sustain our planet.

Some of the most meaningful conversations about nature happen far from cities and conference halls.

At Chilaray Jatiya Vidyalaya, North salmara, students joined us on a journey into the hidden relationships that sustain life on Earth. Through his session on Mutualism, Shri Suhrid Chandra showed how every ecosystem survives through cooperation, balance, and interdependence.

The greatest attraction of the programme was the Terrarium Biosphere, designed by Mr Bikash Maiti. Within this miniature living world, students observed rainfall, nutrient recycling, decomposition, and the activities of tiny organisms that keep ecosystems alive. The HariMitti team guided them through the remarkable processes unfolding inside this glass universe.

The excitement continued through binocular observations and micromicroscope demonstrations invented by Dr Ramendralal Mukherjee, opening new windows into nature.
