Mt. happy is a cottage located in the midst of infinite apple farms. In a valley surrounded by snow t Happy is not a place. It is an idea. Build to sustain.

It is a concept backed by a common code. We live in a cordial relationship with nature. And we invite you to come visit. happy is our nest in the cradle of the mountains. Our cottage is a two storey renovated Kulvi structure with two single rooms and two duplexes. We have non attached bathroom with hot water. We have a library with a projector and various board games. We have our kitchen garden and patches to grow organic vegetables, herbs and flowers. We organise activities and expeditions. We have a peach, an apricot and a cherry tree. We have snow tipped mountains, green slopes and drifting clouds. We host traveler in their journey into the mountains. We don't buy packaged drinking water. We don't sell plastic or aluminium.

Can’t believe I’m looking for a home for Bella and Brownie.

Even though I’ve been away from Mount Happy a lot, it was still home—and they were always there. But now that I’ve moved permanently to Kolkata, they need a new home.

Please help them find one. Call your friends in the mountains 🤙

An impromptu bike ride from Chaki until Drang-Drung glacier and back, with Sumanto, earlier this summer.
Three days on the bike, two nights in Zanskar. Felt like a mental and physical reset.

Thought about doing something like this for over a decade, but when it happened this time, it took less than an hour to get on the bike from the moment I considered the possibility of going for a short day ride across the tunnel.

A reminder to self that while it is important to live deliberately, it is equally important to remember that life should not get lost in the process…

Woke up to a brief but very yellow early morning today, forgot to take a picture.
Then it started raining & I went back for a nap, felt too cold in the bed.
Woke up to find some fresh snow on the tops.
Stunningly beautiful day !!
