In the pottery village of Majuli, time does not hurry.
It circles—like the wheel under a potter’s palm—patient, repetitive, faithful.

For the porter, morning arrives with weight:
bundles balanced, clay-stained feet, a life measured not in moments but in loads carried.
The ground remembers him. The path knows his pace.

Then we arrived—
with lenses, with wonder, with the hunger to frame what felt untouched.
To us, the ordinary looked rare.
Cracked hands became poetry.
Smoke, mud, silence—exotic.

But for them, it was not a scene.
It was inheritance.
The rhythm of survival passed down like muscle memory.
Each gesture rehearsed by generations, not for art, but for tomorrow.

Our shutters clicked.
Their lives continued.

And somewhere between our fascination and their fatigue,
we realized:
we were visitors to a moment—
they were carrying an entire existence.
