World population is growing at approximately 80 million per year, and is expected to reach nearly 10 billion by 2050. To meet the demand for food, experts predict that globally we will need to double global crop production over the next 35 years. Rate of yield increase for major crops have been trending negatively on a 10-year curve and input costs per output are increasing significantly. To keep the pace, contemporary agriculture stakeholders are focusing on yield improvement & optimised resource inputs per unit output. Exciting and emerging technologies have quickly realised that the agriculture value chain provides fertile first market opportunities for many technologies that are advanced enough and have not yet found solutions in the AgTech space, ushering in the era of precision agriculture technologies. Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (Agriculture Drones), Internet of Things (IoT) based sensor-networks for Soil/Weather/Water analysis, GPS guided equipment and tractors, Remote Sensing and Image Recognition based Artificial Intelligence are to name a few of the technologies which are currently being strongly developed and implemented in various facets of Agriculture Planning, Production and Post-Harvest Implementation. AgNext, a company with a vision to make precision agriculture technologies accessible and affordable to world’s agriculture community is led by passionate agriculture and technology professionals and mentored by leading industry leaders. During the last one year of its existence, AgNext has been a recipient of many national level awards and recommendations including AFI Silicon Valley Challenge, Accelerator Program of NAARM and CIIE, Incubation at IIT Kharagpur and Best Upcoming Startup Award by Assocham, India. Presently, AgNext is delivering key technologies in Imaging (Remote Sensing and Hyperspectral Analysis) and IOT (Connected Farms) for Agriculture
