Neem Tree was our first choice while starting the plantation on our farm land. What makes neem a must have tree around you ? Well.....

🌳 Neem is a hardy Tree which Grows well in degraded lands faced with water scarcity

🌳 Neem Tree when planted in the direction of wind purifies the air flowing into your farm or home thereby improving the aqi

🌳 Our Neem Trees have survived wild fires which happen every year around our farm.

🌳 Skip boric acid and use neem powder as preservatives for storing your grains or rice

🌳 Neem leaves can be used to make neemastra spray which works as natural pest repellent

So when are you planting one around you

One of our farm tasks in summer is to collect as much Seeds as we can. We let some vegetables mature for Seeds. Seeds of fruits we eat are not thrown but go straight to our nursery. We scout our neighbouring jungles for native tree Seeds.

All these Seeds are then either planted in seed trays in our nursery or are stored for their next sowing season. This not just saves our cost of buying new saplings but our next generation of trees are more resilient and adapt well in the farm.

Do you save Seeds like us.....Do tell us about it in comments !

With monsoon hitting early , our colocasia leaves are in full glory. Not only the leaves are huge in size but when cooked into Konkani dish pathrode ( known as Allu wadi in Maharashtra)the taste takes me back in time during my childhood days

It’s true when they say if you take care of the soil, the taste of the food is taken care of

In pic is Savita our farmhouse cook who has picked up few leaves to make a yummy pathrode for lunch
