Prima Elizabeth Kurien, originally an art consultant, spanning her career in the art business for more than two and a half decades, decided to take forward her first love and interest, which was cooking. Being inspired and trained by her family, she credits her grandmother for being her pillar of strength when it comes to cooking up an unmistakably outstanding meal. She founded
“Prima Kurien’s Traditional Kerala Cuisine” in 2005, gaining remarkable recognition and so, decided to release her first book titled 'Kerala Kitchen' published by Roli Books. The book included her special fan favorites such as the Biryani, Appam, Kadala Curry, Kappa Puratiyathu and many more; also feautured in the book are traditional Kerala wines, Jams and Pickles. The book is available in all successful running book stores across India. Sticking true to her roots, Prima serves Delhites the food of her Syrian Christian background. Her recipes have also been featured in the books "1000 Great Indian Recipes – The Ultimate Book of Indian Cuisine" and "Indian Recipes under 30 minutes”. She has also served her food in major festivals such as the annual 'Dastkar Mela'
Taking her name to greater heights, Prima has catered and reached out to some of the greatest names around New Delhi and her food has been credited, appreciated and have been well received by all food aficionados. In addition to her regular catering schedule, she caters her special signature dishes to two award winning restaurants in Delhi being 'Diva Cafe' and 'Latitude 28', both being the brain child of restaurateur and master chef, Ritu Dalmia.
