1. It will get lonely. Weekends are the busiest days for bakery owners. So when your friends and family are free, hanging out, making plans, you are not available.
When you have time, barely anyone is free.
So yes, not going to sugercoat it gets lonely.

2. Baking is only a small part of the business. Because most days I am just dealing with customer queries, BD, coordinating with delivery guys and vendors, managing staff and taking care of marketing.

3. Everyday there is a new competitor. Because let’s be honest everyone wants to open their own cafe, bakery or a dessert shop. And the competition is real. Even on good days, I have anxiety that what if we don’t stay relevant. Although I do try to just focus on my work and skills, I cannot lie and say I don’t get anxious.

4. Being profitable is not easy. Especially if you don’t want to compromise on the ingredients. The rent, salaries, marketing, packaging, commissions - everything makes the margin very slim.

5. Just because you like baking, does not mean should open a bakery. Apart from passion, it takes pressure and persistence.
