This time of the year, everything revolves around cashew.

On the trees — the first apples and nuts.
On the ground — roasting over open fire.
In the shed — careful hands at work, led by our team mostly from the loving Gawali community who’ve done this for years.

And then, from fruit to Urak — a drink that carries the season with it.

It’s a cycle we witness up close, every single day.

New year, new beginnings — rooted in the same soil. 🌱

Merry Christmas from Surangichi Foli Plantation 🎄❤️💚

This season, our rose apple tree is dressed in its festive best — vibrant reds resting gently against lush greens 🍎🌿 A colour combination that feels straight out of Christmas itself.

In Goa and across South India, rose apples carry a quiet nostalgia. Crisp, refreshing, and often enjoyed with a pinch of salt 🧂😋 — plucked straight from the tree, shared after meals, or lovingly pickled for later days.

Light on the body, rich in hydration, and generous in spirit 💧✨ — they remind us that nature’s gifts are simple, seasonal, and meant to be shared.

It helps protect the trunk from pests, fungal growth, and harsh sun ☀️🌱 — and honestly, it hits different visually too 🤍

That quiet white against green, especially as the land slopes and breathes… there’s a certain calming effect to it. 🌿😇

Sometimes good farm practices also happen to look beautiful 🌾🤍

Meet the family of (white) rose apples at . Even though it’s known to be the less popular cousin of the (pink or red) rose apples, the fruit is used extensively for preparing salads, wines and pickles attributing to its fine, tangy taste.

And the name rose apple has nothing to do with the colour (as you can see). It’s apparently due to the subtle flavour of rose petals in its pulp. 🌹
