BJP विधायक रत्ना देबनाथ ने कहा कि मेरी बेटी की आंखों में पानी नहीं, बल्कि खून के आंसू थे. उसे ड्यूटी पर रहते हुए इतनी बेरहमी से मार दिया गया. इसपर पत्रकार वसीम अकरम त्यागी ने कहा कि काश! ऐसी किस्मत बिलकिस बानो की भी होती! जिसकी तीन साल की बेटी समेत परिवार के डेढ दर्जन सदस्य उसकी आंखों के सामने कत्ल किए गए. जब उन दरिंदों को सज़ा हुई तो कुछ वर्ष बाद ही गुजरात सरकार ने उन दरिंदों की सजाएं माफ कर दीं.
