Human Body - The Most Amazing Machine
Saturday mornings were always cheerful in Raghavan's house.
The aroma of fresh idlis drifted from the kitchen while Lakshmi prepared coconut chutney. Nithya arranged the breakfast plates, and little Aarna walked around carrying her favourite teddy bear, pretending she was helping everyone.
Vihaan had already finished breakfast.
He stood near the window watching two sparrows hopping along the compound wall.
One bird suddenly flew away.
The other followed almost immediately.
Vihaan watched them disappear into the blue sky.
Grandpa Raghavan joined him with a warm cup of filter coffee.
"What are you thinking about?" he asked.
Vihaan didn't answer immediately.
Instead, he took a deep breath.
Then another.
Finally he looked up.
"Grandpa..."
"Hmm?"
"Who tells us to breathe?"
Grandpa smiled.
"What made you ask that?"
"I was watching the birds. They fly without forgetting. I breathe without remembering. Even when I'm sleeping, I keep breathing. Who reminds me?"
Grandpa looked delighted.
"That," he said, "is one of the best questions anyone can ask."
By then, Karthik had finished breakfast and joined them.
"What are you two discussing so seriously?"
"Vihaan wants to know who reminds us to breathe."
Karthik laughed gently.
"That's a wonderful question."
Vihaan looked from his father to his grandfather.
"So...who is it?"
Grandpa pointed towards Vihaan's chest.
"Does your heart ask your permission before beating?"
"No."
"Do your lungs ask permission before breathing?"
"No."
"Does your stomach ask permission before digesting breakfast?"
Vihaan giggled.
"No!"
Grandpa nodded.
"That's because your body is far more intelligent than any machine humans have ever built."
Vihaan frowned.
"More intelligent than a robot?"
"Much more."
"More than a supercomputer?"
"Even more."
Now everyone in the room had become curious.
Lakshmi came out of the kitchen, wiping her hands on her towel.
"What are we comparing with supercomputers today?"
"The human body," Grandpa replied.
Lakshmi smiled knowingly.
"That's a comparison the human body will always win."
Grandpa continued.
"Imagine buying the most advanced robot in the world."
"It will need electricity."
"It will need maintenance."
"It may stop working."
"It cannot repair itself."
"It cannot grow."
"It cannot feel happiness."
"It cannot dream."
"It cannot love."
Vihaan nodded after each sentence.
"But your body..."
Grandpa gently touched Vihaan's shoulder.
"...started as a tiny single cell."
"It grew into trillions of living cells."
"It repairs cuts."
"It fights germs."
"It learns."
"It remembers."
"It laughs."
"It cries."
"And every second..."
Grandpa paused dramatically.
"...it performs millions of jobs without asking you to think about them."
Vihaan's eyes became wide.
"Millions?"
Karthik added,
"While we're talking now, your lungs are taking in air."
"Your heart is pumping blood."
"Your brain is listening."
"Your ears are hearing."
"Your eyes are seeing."
"Your stomach is digesting breakfast."
"And thousands of tiny messages are travelling throughout your body."
Vihaan looked at himself.
"I didn't do any of that!"
"Exactly," said Grandpa.
"Your body is doing it for you."
Aarna suddenly joined the conversation.
"My teddy doesn't breathe."
Everyone laughed.
"No," Lakshmi smiled.
"Because Teddy is only a toy."
Vihaan hugged his little sister.
"I'm glad we're not toys."
Grandpa chuckled.
"Nature has given each one of us something far more precious than the world's most expensive machine."
"The human body."
He looked at both grandchildren.
"The funny thing is..."
"We spend years learning how to use phones..."
"...computers..."
"...televisions..."
"...cars..."
"But many people never spend even one hour trying to understand the amazing body they have lived in since the day they were born."
The room became quiet.
Not because anyone was sad.
Because everyone was thinking.
After a few moments, Vihaan smiled.
"Grandpa..."
"Yes?"
"I think my body deserves a user manual."
Grandpa laughed heartily.
"I couldn't agree more."
He looked around at the family.
"That is exactly the journey we're going to begin."
"A journey to discover the most amazing living ecosystem in the world."
"Our own body."
Vihaan took another deep breath.
This time...
He noticed it.
For the very first time in his life.

நமது உயிர் சூழலை அறிவோம் (Know our Eco System)

🌿 நமது உடல்நலம் பெரும்பாலும் மூன்று விஷயங்களால் தீர்மானிக்கப்படுகிறது...

🥗 நாம் உண்ணும் உணவு
🌿 நாம் வாழும் சுற்றுச்சூழல்
🚶 நாம் பின்பற்றும் வாழ்க்கை முறை

ஆரோக்கியமான வாழ்க்கைக்கு... இந்த மூன்றையும் அறிந்து பாதுகாப்போம்.

அத்தியாயம் 1
மனித உடல் ஒரு அற்புதமான இயந்திரம்

சனிக்கிழமை காலையென்றாலே ராகவன் வீட்டில் ஒரு தனி சந்தோஷம்.

சமையலறையில் இருந்து சூடான இட்லியின் வாசனை வந்துகொண்டிருந்தது. லட்சுமி தேங்காய் சட்னி அரைத்துக் கொண்டிருந்தார். நித்யா எல்லோருக்கும் காலை உணவை பரிமாறிக் கொண்டிருந்தாள்.

ஆர்ணா, தன்னுடைய டெடி பொம்மையை தூக்கிக்கொண்டு,
"நானும் உதவி பண்றேன்!"
என்று வீட்டைச் சுற்றிக் கொண்டிருந்தாள்.

விஹான் சாப்பிட்டு முடித்துவிட்டு ஜன்னல் அருகில் நின்றிருந்தான்.

வீட்டுச் சுவரின் மேல் இரண்டு சிட்டுக்குருவிகள் தத்தித்தத்தி நடந்துகொண்டிருந்தன.

திடீரென்று ஒரு குருவி பறந்தது.

அடுத்த நொடியே இன்னொரு குருவியும் அதைப் பின்தொடர்ந்தது.

அவை வானத்தில் சிறிய புள்ளியாக மறைந்து போகும் வரை விஹான் பார்த்துக்கொண்டே இருந்தான்.

அந்த நேரத்தில் ராகவன் தாத்தா, கையில் சூடான ஃபில்டர் காபியுடன் அவன் அருகில் வந்து நின்றார்.

"என்னடா... என்ன யோசனை?"

விஹான் உடனே பதில் சொல்லவில்லை.

ஒரு ஆழமான மூச்சை இழுத்தான்.

மறுபடியும் இன்னொரு மூச்சை விட்டான்.

பிறகு மெதுவாக கேட்டான்.

"தாத்தா..."

"சொல்லு கண்ணா..."

"நமக்கு மூச்சு விடணும்னு சொல்லுறது யாரு?"

ராகவன் சிரித்தார்.

"ஏன் திடீர்னு இந்த கேள்வி?"

"அந்த குருவிகளைப் பார்த்துக்கிட்டு இருந்தேன்."

"அவை யாரும் சொல்லாம பறக்குது."

"நானும் யாரும் சொல்லாம மூச்சு விடுறேன்."

"தூங்கும்போதும் மூச்சு நிக்கலையே..."

"அப்போ யாரு ஞாபகப்படுத்துறாங்க?"

ராகவனின் முகம் மலர்ந்தது.

"விஹான்... ரொம்ப நல்ல கேள்வி கேட்டிருக்க."

அந்த நேரத்தில் கார்த்திக்கும் அங்கே வந்தார்.

"என்னப்பா... தாத்தாவும் பேரனும் இவ்வளவு சீரியஸா பேசிக்கிட்டு இருக்கீங்க?"

ராகவன் சிரித்தார்.

"விஹான் நமக்கு மூச்சு விடச் சொல்லுறது யாருன்னு கேட்கிறான்."

கார்த்திக்கும் மகிழ்ச்சியாக சிரித்தார்.

"அட... அருமையான கேள்வி!"

விஹான் இருவரையும் பார்த்தான்.

"அப்படின்னா... பதில் என்ன?"

ராகவன் அவன் மார்பை மெதுவாகத் தொட்டார்.

"உன் இதயம் துடிக்க உன்னிடம் அனுமதி கேட்குதா?"

"இல்ல."

"உன் நுரையீரல் மூச்சு விடணும்னு உன்னிடம் கேட்குதா?"

"இல்ல."

"நீ சாப்பிட்ட இட்லியை ஜீரணிக்க உன் வயிறு உன்னிடம் கேட்குதா?"

விஹான் சிரித்தான்.

"இல்ல!"

"அதுதான்."

"மனுஷன் இதுவரைக்கும் கண்டுபிடிச்ச எந்த இயந்திரத்தையும் விட உன் உடம்பு ரொம்ப புத்திசாலி."

விஹான் ஆச்சரியப்பட்டான்.

"ரோபோட்டை விடவா?"

"அதையும் விட."

"சூப்பர் கம்ப்யூட்டரைவிடவா?"

"அதையும் விட."

அவர்களுடைய பேச்சைக் கேட்டு லட்சுமியும் வெளியே வந்தார்.

"இன்று யாரை சூப்பர் கம்ப்யூட்டரோட ஒப்பிடுறீங்க?"

"மனித உடம்பை."

என்றார் ராகவன்.

லட்சுமி சிரித்தார்.

"அந்த போட்டியில் மனித உடம்புதான் எப்போதும் ஜெயிக்கும்."

ராகவன் தொடர்ந்தார்.

"உலகத்திலேயே ரொம்ப விலையுயர்ந்த ரோபோட்டை வாங்கினதாக நினைச்சுக்கோ."

"அதுக்கு மின்சாரம் வேணும்."

"அதை பராமரிக்கணும்."

"ஒருநாள் பழுதாகலாம்."

"அது தன்னைத்தானே சரி பண்ணிக்க முடியாது."

"அது வளராது."

"சிரிக்காது."

"அழாது."

"கனவு காணாது."

"அன்பு செலுத்தாது."

விஹான் அமைதியாகக் கேட்டுக்கொண்டிருந்தான்.

"ஆனா..."

ராகவன் அவன் தோளில் கை வைத்தார்.

"உன் உடம்பு..."

"...ஒரே ஒரு சின்ன உயிரணுவா ஆரம்பிச்சது."

"...இன்று கோடிக்கணக்கான உயிரணுக்களோட ஒரு உயிருள்ள உலகமா இருக்கு."

"காயம் பட்டா தானே சரி பண்ணிக்குது."

"கிருமிகளோட சண்டை போடுது."

"புதிய விஷயங்களைக் கத்துக்குது."

"நினைவில் வச்சுக்குது."

"சிரிக்குது."

"அழுது."

"அதுமட்டுமில்ல..."

"ஒவ்வொரு நொடியும்..."

"நீ யோசிக்காமலேயே..."

"லட்சக்கணக்கான வேலைகளை செய்து கொண்டே இருக்கு."

விஹான் கண்களை பெரிதாக்கினான்.

"லட்சக்கணக்கான வேலைகளா?"

கார்த்திக் சொன்னார்.

"இப்ப நாம பேசிக்கிட்டு இருக்கும்போதே..."

"உன் நுரையீரல் காற்றை உள்ளே இழுக்குது."

"உன் இதயம் இரத்தத்தை உடம்பு முழுக்க அனுப்புது."

"உன் மூளை நம்ம பேச்சை புரிஞ்சுக்குது."

"உன் காதுகள் கேக்குது."

"உன் கண்கள் பார்க்குது."

"உன் வயிறு காலை சாப்பாட்டை ஜீரணம் பண்ணிக்கிட்டு இருக்கு."

"உன் உடம்புக்குள்ள ஆயிரக்கணக்கான தகவல்கள் ஒரு இடத்திலிருந்து இன்னொரு இடத்துக்கு போய்க்கிட்டே இருக்கு."

விஹான் தன்னையே பார்த்தான்.

"இதெல்லாம் நான் பண்ணலையே!"

ராகவன் சிரித்தார்.

"அதுதான்."

"உன் உடம்பு உனக்காக இதெல்லாம் தானாகவே செய்து கொண்டிருக்கிறது."

அந்த நேரத்தில் ஆர்ணா பேசினாள்.

"என் டெடி மூச்சு விடாதே!"

எல்லோரும் சிரித்தார்கள்.

லட்சுமி சொன்னார்.

"அது பொம்மைடா செல்லம்."

விஹான் தங்கையை கட்டிப்பிடித்தான்.

"நாம பொம்மையா இல்லாதது நல்ல விஷயம்."

ராகவன் சிரித்தார்.

"இந்த உலகத்திலேயே எந்த இயந்திரத்தையும் விட விலைமதிப்புள்ள ஒரு பரிசை இயற்கை நமக்கு கொடுத்திருக்கிறது."

"அதுதான் மனித உடம்பு."

பிறகு இரு குழந்தைகளையும் பார்த்து கேட்டார்.

"ஒரு விஷயம் தெரியுமா?"

"போன் எப்படி பயன்படுத்தணும்னு கத்துக்கறோம்."

"கம்ப்யூட்டர் பயன்படுத்த கத்துக்கறோம்."

"டிவி, கார்... எல்லாத்தையும் பயன்படுத்த கத்துக்கறோம்."

"ஆனா..."

"பிறந்த நாள் முதல் நம்மோட இருக்கிற இந்த அற்புதமான உடம்பைப் பற்றி தெரிஞ்சுக்க கூட நிறைய பேரு ஒரு மணி நேரம் கூட செலவிட மாட்டாங்க."

சில நிமிடங்கள் யாரும் பேசவில்லை.

அமைதி.

யாரும் சோகமாக இல்லை.

எல்லோரும் யோசித்துக்கொண்டிருந்தார்கள்.

சிறிது நேரம் கழித்து விஹான் சிரித்தான்.

"தாத்தா..."

"சொல்லு."

"என் உடம்புக்கும் ஒரு User Manual இருக்கணும் போல!"

ராகவன் மனதார சிரித்தார்.

"நானும் அதைத்தான் நினைச்சேன்."

குடும்பத்தினரை எல்லோரையும் பார்த்தார்.

"அப்படிப்பட்ட ஒரு பயணத்தைத்தான் இன்று நாம் ஆரம்பிக்கப் போறோம்."

"இந்த உலகத்திலேயே மிக அற்புதமான உயிருள்ள சூழலமைப்பைப் பற்றி தெரிஞ்சுக்கற பயணம்."

"அது..."
"நம்ம உடம்பு."
விஹான் இன்னொரு முறை ஆழமாக மூச்சை இழுத்தான்.
இந்த முறை...
அவன் அந்த மூச்சை உணர்ந்தான்.
தன்னுடைய வாழ்க்கையில்...
முதல்முறையாக.

Hello! I'm **K. Jaishankar**.

For many years, I have been passionate about **organic farming, environmental conservation, sustainable living, and community education**.

My journey has taken me from promoting organic agriculture and working with an **Organic Farmers Consortium across Tamil Nadu and Bengaluru**, to conducting **free agro-tourism and eco-tourism programmes** for school and college students, helping them understand the importance of nature, farming, and environmental responsibility.

Today, I am also working toward the vision of **KANCHI Eco Village**—a model community for sustainable living that brings together healthy living, ecological responsibility, and community well-being.

Through these experiences, I discovered a simple truth:
