White Worms – A Breeder’s Conditioning Food.

White worms (Enchytraeus albidus) are a highly valued live food among serious ornamental fish breeders. Their rich protein and fat content make them an excellent conditioning diet for broodstock prior to spawning.

Breeders often use white worms to bring fish into peak breeding condition, improving body mass, egg production and spawning response. Species like Discus, Angelfish, Bettas, Killifish and dwarf cichlids respond exceptionally well to this live food.

Due to their soft body and active movement, white worms trigger strong feeding instincts even in selective feeders. When used properly and in moderation, they can significantly improve breeding success.

For many breeders, white worms remain a classic and reliable live food for conditioning fish.
