Behind every restaurant, there is more than just food.

There are people, stories, passion, and countless hours dedicated to creating something meaningful for every guest who walks through the door.
We had the pleasure of welcoming the RÚV team, who visited us to film an episode of Landinn airing this October. It was a wonderful opportunity to share not only our food, but also the values that define who we are.

We spoke about our vision, our commitment to quality, and the belief that hospitality is about making people feel at home. We opened the doors to our kitchen, shared a glimpse of our daily work.

This photo captures a special moment, but what matters most is the journey behind it. Thank you to everyone who supports us and allows us to do what we love every day.

Þann 2. maí í Ólafsvík liðu nákvæmlega tólf mánuðir frá því að Matarlist hóf sína vegferð.

Þetta ár var tími mikillar vinnu, áskorana og uppbyggingar frá grunni — frá tómu rými að stað sem í dag hefur sinn eigin karakter og sjálfsmynd.

Það var ekki alltaf auðvelt, en einmitt þessi reynsla lagði grunninn að því sem Matarlist er í dag.🫶🏻🫶🏻

Skref fyrir skref höfum við skapað stað þar sem ekki aðeins maturinn skiptir máli, heldur heildarupplifunin — bragð, andrúmsloft og hvernig gestum líður við borðið okkar.😍 #

Við þökkum gestum okkar fyrir traustið og fyrir að koma aftur, teyminu fyrir daglegt framlag sitt og íslenskum og pólskum vinum okkar fyrir stuðninginn á hverju stigi þessarar vegferðar.

Frá upphafi var markmið okkar að skapa eitthvað meira en veitingastað — stað sem er bæði fágaður og náttúrulegur, vandaður en um leið hlýr og afslappaður.😘

Þetta ár hefur kennt okkur margt og sýnt að þróun er ferli — krefjandi, en afar .🥰😘
