Vestri-Garðsauki is a family run guesthouse in the South of Iceland with nine to eleven beds, two shared bathrooms and two shared kitchens. We offer delicious dinner and breakfast when booked in advance. With the milk of our cows, we are able to serve homemade joghurt and cheese, but also the marmelade and bread are selfmade. Vestri-Garðsauki is not only a Guesthouse, but also a agricultural holding with five cows, two bulls, some calfs, six horses, a few chicken and cats. Furthermore there are three dogs around, Loppa and Kátur, who are outside all the time and Buddy, our housedog. Working our land mostly serves the production of hay and other food for animals. We also produce turf for using on various green areas in our rapidly expanding capital. We are a family of six but there are nearly almost workers around - if you are interested in working on an Icelandic farm, please contact us. But some also speak french, danish and swedish as fluent languages.

Vestri-Garðsauki ist ein familienbetriebenes Gaestehaus im Sueden Islands mit neun bis elf Betten, zwei Gemeinschaftsbaedern und zwei Gemeinschaftskuechen. Nach Buchung bieten wir köstliches Abendessen und Fruehstueck an. MIt der Milch unserer Kuehe ist es uns möglich, Ihnen hausgemachten Joghurt und Kaese zu servieren, als auch hausgemachte Marmelade, Brot und Brötchen. Vestri-Garðsauki ist nicht nur ein Gaestehaus, sondern auch ein landwirtschaftlicher Betrieb mit fuenf Kuehen, zwei Bullen, Kaelbchen, sechs Pferden, ein paar Huehnern und Katzen. Ausserdem leben auf dem Hof noch drei Hunde, Loppa und Kátur, unsere Hofhunde und Buddy, unser Haushund. Unser Land wird grösstenteils fuer die Herstellung von Heu und anderem Tierfutter gebraucht. Zudem stellen wir Grasmatten her, die im ganzen Land genutzt werden. Wir selbst sind eine sechsköpfige Familie, aber fast das ganze Jahr haben wir Arbeiter hier auf dem Hof - falls du Interesse daran hast, auf einer Farm in Island zu arbeiten, melde dich bitte bei uns. Neben islaendisch sprechen alle hier deutsch und englisch. Aber auch französich, daenisch und schwedisch wird von einigen fluessig beherrscht.
