At our horsefarm Akurgerði, we have a beautiful guesthouse for rent and offer private customized riding tours on natural tölting and well trained horses.

At our horse farm Akurgerði, we have a beautiful guesthouse for rent. The house has a fully equipped kitchen, a bathroom with a shower and a big terrasse with BBQ and private Hot Tub. You have the fields with the horses directly beside your house. Maybe you will be the first one finding a new born foal in the morning? (;

We here at the farm Akurgerdi near Selfoss are looking for 1 or 2 motivated persons to work for us, start around 10th of june. We would like to find sb. who can stay for 3 months or longer, the longer the better.
We need help with guiding private riding tours, cleaning guesthouses, taking care of the horses and training horses.
We are looking for an open and positive person, teamplayer, 18 years or older with experience in training horses and a good knowledge of the english language.
Right now we are only searching for sb. who can start in June. If you are looking for a job later we unfortunately cant answer requests for that. Same for riding skills, we can only answer requests if there is good knowledge with training horses.

Akurgerdi is also the home of salehorses.is, if there is time I always try to take sb. with me to the farms when filming salehorses.

Stunningly pretty stallion project, very fair price!

Baldur is a stunningly pretty 1 year old stallion with very promising gaits.
He is super well bred. His father is the Landsmot winner of the 5 year old stalliongroup 2022 Fróði frá Flugumýri. Fróði is one of the most talented 4 gaiters I have ever seen. He is judged with 8,58!!! just 5 years old and as a 4 gaiter. He received 9,5 for tölt and general impression, 9 for everything else beside walk (8,5). He is also stunningly pretty with 8,64 for confirmation, 9,5 for neck!!! Fróði is son of Mr. X Factor Hringur frá Gunnarsstöðum I (honory prize).

The mother of Baldur Stálflís frá Hofi I is a first prize Stáli frá Kjarri (honory prize) daughter. Her mother Þruma frá Hofi I is a honory prize mare which has the crazy number of 9 judged offsprings, all of them in first prize! You probably know her son Skuggi frá Hofi I who is a world champion!

The sister Kolgríma frá Hofi I (same mother as Baldur) was judged in breedingshow in Germany and received amazing 8,34 in total.

With Baldur is a very exciting stallion project for sale and the best, the price is super fair with under 5500 Euros!

Beachtour with obstacles 😂🧊🧊🧊🧊⛸️⛸️ but sooooo worth it😍😍😍 to clarify: the horses are shoed with spikes and were never in danger! they are very used to these conditions here in ICEland. We humans were the ones with problems and we are laughing about us. we got a bit surprised with the conditions there. yes it would have been smart to take spikes for us too!

X Factor 4 gaited mare with 5 times 9!! in breedingshow, pregnant with the 4 gaited BLUP record holder and Landsmot winner and Icelandic Champion in T1 Skarpur frá Kýrholti

With Kjarvöl you can buy a mare which is rarely for sale. She received 8,29 in breedingshow, 8,91 Ridden abilities w/o pace! She received 9 for tölt, trot, gallop, ridability and general impression, nothing below 8,5! She was broken in with 4,5 years.
Her breedingline is amazing. Her mother Brynja frá Hrauni received the second place at Landsmot 2002 in the group of 5 year old mares! Her offsprings show amazing qualities, a lot more will be judged soon after her. Kjarvöls father is the superstar Útherji frá Blesastöðum 1A. He received just 4 years old 3 times 9 and one time 9,5. He is son of the super mare Blúnda frá Kílhrauni who is mother of the 2 times Landsmot T1 winner mare Alfa frá Blesastöðum 1A who received 10 for tölt. Blunda is also mother of the super star Fláki frá Blesastöðum 1A who is for example father of the Landsmot winner Forkur frá Breiðabólsstað. Kjarvöl is pregnant with the one and only Skarpur frá Kýrholti. Skarpur has prooven many times that he is Icelands best T1 horse, many times received well over 9 in T1. He is judged with 8,63 with no gait under 9 and many 9,5th. After the recent BLUP calcualtion he became by far!! the highest with 144 (Total w/o pace)!!!
His offspings show amazing qualities like his daughter Nótt frá Tjaldhólum who made a new record and received 9,5 for tölt and slow tölt and ridability just 4 years old!
Kjarvöl is very well trained and can be a top V1 and T1 with further good training.

Wanna breed X FACTOR?

Super exciting very well bread first prize mare, pregnant with the new x factor super star Miðill frá Hrafnagili (1 x 10, 6 x 9,5!!!)

Sigurdís is a super talented 5 gaited mare with very big movements. Her breeding line is very exciting. Her father, the first prize stallion Skálkur frá Koltursey, really has the x factor. No wonder, his breeding line goes back to Vatnsleysa. His father Lexus frá Vatnsleysu is for example also father of the highest judged 4 gaited mare in the world, Lýdía frá Eystri-Hól.
The mother of Sigurdís is Eindís frá Leirulæk (firt prize). Her father is the Landsmot winner Fróði frá Staðartungu. And her mother Þórdís frá Leirulæk is a honory prize mare who has given many super stars!

Sigurdís is pregnant with Miðill frá Hrafnagili who made a new record this year. He is by far the highest judged 5 year old 4 gaited stallion ever.
Miðill is a totally unique stallion with crazy movements, crazy cool look with 9,5 for mane and tail and a suuuuper sweet character! He will do some amazing things next year at Landsmot for sure, lets see if he will make a new record for the 4 gaited stallions. He is judged with 8,68 at the moment (5 years old, with 10 for trot and 9,5 for tölt, gallop, form and willingness and hooves and mane). The record is at the moment at 8,76 (Kveikur frá Stangarlæk 1), so lets see if this will stand or fall next year at Landsmot.

I think it would be suuuuuper cool to expect a foal already next year from Miðill out of a super exciting first prize mare i would stay. I think you need to think fast now (; (last two pictures are of Miðill)

Already 2 offsprings have 10 for pace, 1 offspring 9,5 🏎️ Her daughter Hildur frá Fákshólum won Landsmot 2 times and was with 8,91!!! the highest judged mare in the world 2 years ago, today she is on place number 3.
The father of Gná is the honory prize stallion Þristur frá Feti, son of the famous Orri frá Þúfu í Landeyjum.

Gná is pregnant with THE stallion of our times, Skýr frá Skálakoti. This stallion really needs no introduction, he received the Sleipnir trophy (highest honor a stallion can get) and is father of many super stars like Arney, the highest judged mare in the world and Skarpur fra Kýrholti, Icelandic champion in T1 and Landsmot winner in T1 to only name a few.
