Budburst in our vineyards.
what exactly happens during budburst? tiny, woolly buds that have been patiently waiting on the vine’s dormant branches suddenly start to swell and burst open, revealing delicate green shoots.
This magical transformation occurs in response to increasing temperatures and longer daylight hours and signs the start of a new cycle of the vine. ,

The red bottle that stands out!
As we were looking for a new label, we realized instead that we could use the very first red label first released in the late 60’s for our barbaresco.
So for our Barbaresco Secondine we decided to go back to our roots with this vintage red label.

The jasmines & the vineyards.
Jasmines, like grapes vines, also grow in poor and infertile soil, in drought and hard conditions.
After months of drought, we luckily had some much needed rain over the last weeks and our vineyards are lively and green again.
The Tanaro river that runs closed by has reached almost the highest level but luckily didn’t overflow. We feel grateful for it.
We are close to all the people in Emilia Romagna, who experienced floods and damages in the homes and in their activities.
I gelsomini e le vigne.
I gelsomini, come l’uva, crescono anche in terreni poveri e poco fertili, ed in condizioni difficili.
Dopo mesi di siccità, abbiamo finalmente avuto piogge nelle scorse settimane e le nostre vigne sono nuovamente verdi e vive.
Il fiume Tanaro, che scorre vicino a noi, ha raggiunto livelli alti ma non è tracimato fortunatamente. Ci sentiamo grati per questo.
Siamo vicini alla popolazione dell’Emilia Romagna, che ha vissuto l’alluvione e avuto danni nelle proprie case ed attività.

Pumping over : how does it work? 🍇
👉By pumping the grape juice from the bottom of the tank and splashing it over to the top of the must.
By submerging the cap:
1️⃣ the polyphenols contained in the skins, which provide for color, aroma & body, are incorporated into the must.
2️⃣ it avoids any risks that the cap could get attacked by bacteria
3️⃣ it helps releasing the CO2 which is created as by product of the fermentation
👉 By carrying out the manual pump over with the automatic pushing down (the break down of the cap), we reach very effective results.
