For the days when I see the cheaper, non-organic jams sitting right next to mine in store and wonder whether anyone really cares that I choose organic.

Whether you prefer Seville oranges, a fine-cut marmalade or a chunky peel, there’s one thing most people don’t think about…how the citrus fruit was grown and treated.

Marmalade uses the whole fruit, including the peel.

Non-organic citrus fruit is often treated after harvest with fungicides such as Imazalil and Thiabendazole to help prevent mould during storage and transport.

When the peel goes into the jar, so can residues from those treatments.

Choosing marmalade made with organic oranges means avoiding these post-harvest fungicides and enjoying the natural flavour of the fruit itself.

Next time you buy marmalade, turn the jar around and check whether the oranges are organic.

It’s one small change that can make a big difference to what ends up on your toast.

You want to eat better.

You want less sugar, fewer ultra-processed foods and more natural ingredients.

But so many healthy breakfast ideas seem to come with a long list of steps, extra preparation and washing up that you simply don’t have time for before work, school runs or getting out of the door.

You see recipes for elaborate breakfasts that look beautiful on Instagram.

And all you can think is: who has time for that on a Tuesday morning?

The hardest part isn’t wanting a healthier breakfast.

It’s feeling like you have to choose between eating well and getting out of the door on time.

Follow for more ideas on creating healthier breakfasts without compromising on taste or running late.

Many people pick up a jar that says “100% from fruit” and think they’ve found a healthier alternative to traditional jam.

Then they turn the jar around and read the ingredients.

Often, the actual fruit content is much lower than people expect.

Instead of 100% of proper fruit, they find only 50%.

And the other 50%?
Date juice concentrate or grape juice concentrate to bulk out the recipe.

That’s the moment people realise why it still tastes so sweet and why the sugar content can be close to 50g per 100g, not far off traditional jam!

I hear this all the time: “What a con. If it says ‘100% from fruit’ on the label, it should be 100% fruit.”

After making organic fruit spreads for 16 years and selling more than one million jars, I’ve learned that the ingredient list tells you far more than the marketing claims on the front label ever will.

Follow for more simple ways to create healthier breakfasts without compromising on taste.

😋 We’ll be showcasing our Great Taste Award-winning range of pure fruit spreads

🇮🇹 Artisan-made in Italy

🌱 Certified organic

🍒 Our promise is simple: Pure fruit. A taste of pure pleasure.

🌳 Frutteto means “orchard” in Italian as our 100% fruit spreads capture the vibrant taste of organic, single-origin fruit grown under the Mediterranean sun

🍓 Unlike well-known brands that rely on purées, refined sugars or artificial sweeteners, we use 100g of whole fruit to create 100g of spread

👩‍🍳 By gently cooking whole fruit at low temperature, we preserve both the fruit’s natural goodness and vibrant flavour from orchard to jar…

🫐 … so much so that Frutteto is a natural source of fibre, a unique quality within the category

☀️ It’s the ideal choice for those looking to offer a healthier, tastier alternative to traditional preserves and spreads
