And all you can think is: who has time for that on a Tuesday morning?

The hardest part isn’t wanting a healthier breakfast.

It’s feeling like you have to choose between eating well and getting out of the door on time.

Many people pick up a jar that says “100% from fruit” and think they’ve found a healthier alternative to traditional jam.

Then they turn the jar around and read the ingredients.

Often, the actual fruit content is much lower than people expect.

Instead of 100% of proper fruit, they find only 50%.

And the other 50%?
Date juice concentrate or grape juice concentrate to bulk out the recipe.

That’s the moment people realise why it still tastes so sweet and why the sugar content can be close to 50g per 100g, not far off traditional jam!

I hear this all the time: “What a con. If it says ‘100% from fruit’ on the label, it should be 100% fruit.”

After making organic fruit spreads for 16 years and selling more than one million jars, I’ve learned that the ingredient list tells you far more than the marketing claims on the front label ever will.
