I would like to tell you a story about CookArt , the story about how it all began…
I have always been very lucky in my life. During my apprenticeship, I worked under the supervision of a very strict teacher in a good business. More often than not did I come home crying after work and often, it was crying that I went back to work the next day. However, I need to say that I learnt a great deal duri
ng these years of training. I was a newbie to the cooking industry. I didn’t know what I was entitled to, worked non-stop for nearly 3 months and knew the term “afternoon break” only in theory. After concluding my apprenticeship, I wanted to see the world, cook and travel. I had many good friends who stood by me no matter what; today, these friends are also part of CookArt. Over time and the years, on my way to becoming a professional chef, I celebrated a range of smaller and bigger successes. Then, in 2005, I had the idea to offer teenagers in South Tyrol my support. I needed a name for my idea; this led to the foundation of CookArt South Tyrol. CookArt South Tyrol led to the network CookArt Social World with the mission to offer a helping hand, the exchange of information and much more. What I want to say with my story: you do not need to belong to CookArt to do something good. There might be some criticism about the international network CookArt Social World which is why I would like to clarify here what CookArt is all about. CookArt is a social network, offering support for teenagers in the hospitality industry, providing information and offering a helping hand in case problems or challenges arise. CookArt in this sense is like a big family with brothers and sisters from all over the world. It is our dream to have CookArts in every country: in Germany, Switzerland, you name it. We can’t see the future, but we can work on making this dream come true – and we do this every single day. There is one thing that we can already do today: we, the CookArts, can act as a circle of friends from all over the world, friends who don’t hide from problems, but help each other. Often, all it takes is a smile, a nice word or a handshake. This is CookArt Social World, plain and simple, now and in the future. Kind regards and let’s rock! Yours, Martin
