Since February 15th 1585, wine-growers in Buttrio The family estate extends across 110 hectares of vineyards.

The company is located in Buttrio (Udine) Italy, 100 km east of Venice and 90 km south of the border with Austria, in the ‘Friuli Colli Orientali’ d.o.c. district, precisely in a hilly area dedicated to the production of wine, in which vineyards are the predominant feature of the landscape. On 15th February 1585, the noble family d’Attimis-Maniago received the Buttrio winery as dowry for a marriag

Now in its 58th edition, 𝐕𝐢𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐚𝐥𝐲 will take place in 𝐕𝐞𝐫𝐨𝐧𝐚 from 𝐒𝐮𝐧𝐝𝐚𝐲, 𝐀𝐩𝐫𝐢𝐥 𝟏𝟐, 𝐭𝐨 𝐖𝐞𝐝𝐧𝐞𝐬𝐝𝐚𝐲, 𝐀𝐩𝐫𝐢𝐥 𝟏𝟓. The largest international Italian wine fair will welcome professionals, buyers, and enthusiasts to Veronafiere.

𝐎𝐮𝐫 𝐡𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐨𝐫𝐲 𝐢𝐧 𝐁𝐮𝐭𝐭𝐫𝐢𝐨

The history of the d'Attimis-Maniago Family in Buttrio began on 𝐅𝐞𝐛𝐫𝐮𝐚𝐫𝐲 𝟏𝟓, 𝟏𝟓𝟖𝟓, when Lavinia Freschi di Cuccagna, marrying Pompeo di Maniago, brought with her as a dowry the winery and the surrounding vineyards. From that day onwards, the estate has been passed down from generation to generation, reaching the current 𝟏𝟖𝐭𝐡 𝐠𝐞𝐧𝐞𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧.
Right from the start, the d'Attimis-Maniago Family recognized the winemaking potential of Buttrio’s hills: in 1630, Count Paolo di Maniago began a lengthy, yet undoubtedly pioneering, effort to modernize the vineyards in the area, a venture that laid the foundations for the viticulture of the region.

Now in its sixth edition, World Pignolo Day is a public event promoted by the Pignolo Association of Friuli Venezia Giulia, of which 𝐹𝑎𝑏𝑖𝑜 𝑑’𝐴𝑡𝑡𝑖𝑚𝑖𝑠 𝑀𝑎𝑛𝑖𝑎𝑔𝑜 𝑀𝑎𝑟𝑐ℎ𝑖𝑜̀ is president.

On 𝐅𝐫𝐢𝐝𝐚𝐲, 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝟐𝟎𝐭𝐡 𝐨𝐟 𝐌𝐚𝐫𝐜𝐡, Spazio Villalta in Udine will be the setting of a day dedicated to Friuli Venezia Giulia's most mysterious grape variety. The event is designed to be an opportunity for open dialogue and education, with meetings, discussions, and exclusive tastings, as well as special guests.

In our 𝐜𝐞𝐥𝐥𝐚𝐫, the work of the first months of the year is essential to the 𝐦𝐚𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐨𝐟 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐰𝐢𝐧𝐞. New tastings are conducted to assess the qualitative growth, and the first blends of complementary batches of wine begin.

The apparent calm of this period is actually the best setting for the most creative phase of our work: discovering and enhancing the style of the wines, their characteristics, and the qualities we wish to highlight, to recognize them as 𝐂𝐨𝐧𝐭𝐞 𝐝'𝐀𝐭𝐭𝐢𝐦𝐢𝐬-𝐌𝐚𝐧𝐢𝐚𝐠𝐨 𝐰𝐢𝐧𝐞𝐬 at the first sip.

𝐉𝐚𝐧𝐮𝐚𝐫𝐲 is the month of 𝐰𝐢𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝐩𝐫𝐮𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠 operations, a crucial agronomic phase that determines the plant’s vegetative balance and the quality of grapes for the next vintage.

At our estate, this operation is carried out strictly by hand, with the utmost care and respect for the vine’s physiology, by 𝐪𝐮𝐚𝐥𝐢𝐟𝐢𝐞𝐝 𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐨𝐧𝐧𝐞𝐥 who understand the needs of each plant and prune it accordingly.
