Coming to visit us at the winery means discovering up close the history, work and warm hospitality of Cantine Povero 🍇

The experience begins with a tour of about 30 minutes through our production and ageing areas, where you will discover our wines, our traditions and a small but precious museum featuring objects that belonged to our ancestors and vintage farming equipment.

The cherry on top: you will also be able to see Nonna Rita’s kitchen, recreated with original family objects.

At the end of the tour, you will enjoy a tasting of 5 Cantine Povero wines, paired with samples of salami, cheese and einkorn spelt crackers of our own production 🍷🧀

In questi giorni pratichiamo la defogliazione: togliamo alcune foglie intorno ai grappoli per far respirare meglio l’uva, favorire la luce e accompagnare la maturazione 🍃

È un lavoro fatto con attenzione, esperienza e mani vere. Perché ogni bottiglia nasce anche da questi gesti quotidiani, condivisi da tutta la nostra squadra✂️

These days we are carrying out leaf removal: we gently remove some leaves around the bunches to help the grapes breathe, receive more light and ripen 🍃

It is careful work, made of experience and real hands. Because every bottle also begins with these daily gestures, shared by our whole team ✂️

Quest’anno abbiamo piantato oltre 50 nuove querce nella nostra tenuta 🌳

Tra i filari crescono anche arbusti autoctoni come rosa canina, sanguinello, nocciolo, berretta del prete e ligustro.

La loro presenza porta benefici concreti al vigneto: offre rifugio e nutrimento a insetti utili, uccelli e piccoli organismi; favorisce la biodiversità; aiuta a creare corridoi naturali tra le vigne; contribuisce a proteggere il suolo dall’erosione e rende l’ambiente viticolo più equilibrato e resistente.

Per noi coltivare la vite significa anche prenderci cura della terra, del paesaggio e di tutto ciò che lo abita 🍇

This year, we planted more than 50 new oak trees on our estate 🌳

Among the vineyard rows, we have also planted native shrubs such as dog rose, dogwood, hazelnut, spindle tree and privet.

Their presence brings real benefits to the vineyard: they provide shelter and food for beneficial insects, birds and small organisms; encourage biodiversity; help create natural corridors between the vines; protect the soil from erosion; and make the vineyard environment more balanced and resilient.

For us, growing vines also means taking care of the land, the landscape and every living element that is part of it 🍇
