We’ve just passed the 2-year mark of owning a farm. You could say we’re all completely different people than when we started.
We used to spend our days working in front of computers or on busy restaurant floors, sipping €6 coffees, running into friends in town or meeting up at gigs.
Farm life is a little different. We wake up early because if we don’t then we can’t get everything done. There’s still the computer work to do, and on top of it, everything you see happening in this video: tending to the vines and olive trees, making and monitoring wine, bottling, labeling, managing endless bureaucracy, cleaning (and cleaning and cleaning) the cantina, maneuvering pallets to make space where there is never enough, building and marketing a brand. It’s tiresome and rewarding in equal measure. And this list is probably missing half of it.
So now, instead of the fancy coffees and gigs, we make coffee at home. Luca and Erin make dinners, we invite friends, we beg Massi to play the guitar, and we sip the fruits of our labour into the wee hours of the night. Then Evie makes them into reels and they become a visual journal of how our days, months, and now years, are being spent.
This video tells you how it all started. *One day we’ll have the lucidity to not record ourselves in a big echoey room (but this was not that day).
We’re really proud of where we are now, the winemaking and farming network we’ve become a part of, and the community we’re building. We keep meeting the best people and we really, really wouldn’t be where we are without you/them.
Thank you for supporting our business and coming along for the ride… WE SERIOUSLY LOVE YOU ALL ❤️
