Quench Magazine is talking about our member vintners
Thank you, Jason Yamasaki .jwine and for talking about Chianti Classico, the development of Gran Selezione, and including the GS of two of our members.
Jason Yasamaki describes the last decade and the creation of the Gran Selezione category as being in "the middle of something bold and ambitious, while remaining ever true to its origin."
He continues, "It’s a rare moment in wine when you can witness an historic region actively reshaping its future in real time…especially when that region is the oldest geographically defined wine area in the world."
Jason includes the following two Chianti Classico Gran Selezione wines from Montefioralle in the list of wines he recommends.
🍷Terreno Chianti Classico Gran Selezione DOCG ‘Sillano’ 2022
"'Asofia’ delivers a softer, more immediate, fruit-forward style with silky, buoyant layers of pure cherry-toned red fruit. This is for drinking.
'
'Sillano’ moves in the other direction with a more pronounced tension, grip, and overall frame. The architecture and the layers here are meant for thinking, with a textured palate that demands to slow down and pay attention."
🍷Villa Calcinaia Chianti Classico Gran Selezione DOCG ‘La Fornace’, 2022
"Of the trio of Calcinaia’s Gran Selezione, La Fornace ‘The Furnace’ is the broadest and richest. In the case of the warm 2022 vintage, La Fornace is delivering a ton of full-throttle satisfaction up front, with a build, and that’s also poised to evolve into something even more intriguing over time." .capponi
