What does a Tuscan winery look like in the Fall?

Fall is one of the best seasons to travel to Tuscany.

Many wineries in Tuscany, Italy are drying grapes to make Vin Santo wine, a traditional dessert wine in Tuscany. Typically, the wine is made from white grapes such as Trebbiano and Malvasia Bianca. Some producers also include Sangiovese grapes, including us at Poggio San Polo.

When you tour our winery, join us for a wine tasting, or share a meal, you’ll find grapes hanging from the roof in our open-air terrace, as seen in this video. Years from now, a memory of the 2025 grape harvest season will be felt in every drop of our Vin Santo wine.

After being selected in the vineyard and handpicked, our grapes are carefully sorted by hand and then gently separated from their stems. Although meticulous, this process ensures that only the finest fruit make it into our wine.
