A different kind of classroom! We recently welcomed graduate students in landscape architecture and urban planning from the University of Texas at Austin for an afternoon exploring the farm. Together, we looked at our iconic stone pines, forests and pine allées, discussing the history of the landscape, reforestation and the challenges facing these ecosystems. We love seeing our farm through fresh eyes.

We were delighted to welcome Angus “Gus” Ingram from Farmers Helping Farmers Farmers helping Farmers an Australian not-for-profit dedicated to advancing sustainable, nutrient-rich and profitable farming systems. Led by passionate farmers and agricultural experts, the organization connects soil health, human health and environmental wellbeing. A new place to find our rice in Rome! 🌾

The full Tenuta San Carlo rice collection is now on the shelves at AlPassoFood in Ostiense.

Outside the historic center, AlPassoFood brings together a thoughtful selection from small Italian producers, with a focus on organic agriculture and short supply chains.

We’re very happy to see all of our rice together on their shelves!

Our rice fields are home to many kinds of dragonflies. University of Washington UW La Dolce Vita study abroad students recently spotted this beautiful yellow one among the rice. Sometimes you just have to stop and notice who else calls these fields home. 🌾

Le nostre risaie ospitano tante specie di libellule. Gli studenti della University of Washington hanno recentemente avvistato questa bellissima libellula gialla tra il riso. A volte basta fermarsi e osservare chi altro vive nei nostri campi. 🌾

REGENERATIVE SKILLS PODCAST 🔊

Ariane recently joined the Regenerative Agriculture podcast hosted by Oliver Goshey for a conversation about a side of farming that doesn’t always get as much attention: how farmers sell what they grow.
The episode explores alternative markets and sales strategies, and how farmers can find buyers who value not only the quality of their products, but also the work and farming practices behind them. Ariane and the other guests discuss the opportunities and challenges of moving beyond commodity markets and building more direct, consistent relationships with customers.

Recentemente Ariane ha partecipato al podcast Regenerative Skills, condotto da Oliver Goshey di Climate Farmers, per parlare di un aspetto dell’agricoltura che non sempre riceve la giusta attenzione: come gli agricoltori vendono ciò che producono.

A bittersweet start to harvest. 🌾

We began with the field hit hardest by this summer’s storm—heavy rain, wind, and hail. But the rice recovered, and today the combine is moving.

After a challenging season, Harvest 2026 is here. And we’re very happy to see it begin.

A new reason to head just north of us in Maremma. 🌾

We’ve gotten to know chef Marco Crippa .crippa.chef through his passion for our rice and the ingredients of this part of Tuscany.

With a Michelin pedigree behind him, Marco is committed to keeping rice on his menu. As executive chef at the recently opened Paesia Agriristoro at Sequerciani in Tatti, he’s rolling out new recipes — including our rice with orange, fennel and licorice.

Congratulations to Marco and the team. We’re excited to see what comes next. 🌿🍷

Un nuovo motivo per andare un po’ più a nord, sempre qui in Maremma. 🌾

Abbiamo conosciuto lo chef Marco Crippa grazie alla sua passione per il nostro riso e per gli ingredienti di questo territorio.

Con alle spalle esperienze in ristoranti stellati Michelin, Marco vuole che il riso abbia sempre un posto nel suo menu. Come executive chef del nuovo Paesia Agriristoro da Sequerciani, a Tatti, sta introducendo nuove ricette — tra cui il nostro riso con arancia, fi*****io e liquirizia.
