Two estates of exceptional beauty and close proximity to one anotherl; one on the sea in the Monte Argentario, and the other inland towards Siena and Montalcino. Two estates of exceptional beauty and close proximity to one another, one on the sea and the other inland in the Tuscan hills, available for holiday lettings, events and home grown produce. Both estates are in the ‘Maremma’, a large geogr
aphical region of southern Tuscany and northern Lazio, half way between Rome and Pisa/Florence. An Etruscan heartland and Roman colony in Ancient times, and until recent times a remote backwater of Tuscany, the Maremma has become increasingly popular with Italian and foreign tourists only in the past 15 years. It offers a long, unspoilt coastline, rolling hills covered in Mediterranean ‘macchia’ against the backdrop of Monte Amiata, excellent cuisine and lots of activities. In 2015, stepsiblings Camilla Grimaldi and Luca Savelli decided to combine forces and estates to offer a unique opportunity for visitors interested in the Maremma, to experience two completely different areas within an hour of each other. We welcome you to visit our beautiful estates, to see and enjoy the culture, landscape and seascape for yourselves. Capo d'Uomo
The Poderi di Capo d’Uomo estate comprises about 100 acres running along the slopes of the Monte di Capo d’Uomo. To the west, it is bordered by the sea, and is set in its own bay, with views of Monte Cristo, Giglio and Corsica. The estate is mainly woodland, with 12 acres of vineyards, and an olive grove of over 1,100 olive trees. Between Maisto, Rosso di Capo d’Uomo, Africo, Africo Vintage, Bianco di Capo d’Uomo, Pinkus and Duncan the estate produces 15,000 bottles of wine a year. The frantoio, where the olives are crushed, is in a separate building, producing 1,500-1,800 litres of Ego Non Extra Virgin Olive Oil per year. The cottages, dotted round the property, have been converted to the highest level of comfort, with air conditioning, outdoor living spaces and direct access to the sea. The main villa, L’Ottagono, recently refurbished, has a private infinity pool with spectacular sea-views, and comes with temporary membership to the nearby Beach Club. Tenuta di Monteverdi
The Tenuta di Monteverdi is a large family estate, located in the Maremma of Southern Tuscany, and set against the dramatic back drop of Monte Amiata. It is dominated by a late 15th Century borgo with an 18th century church dedicated to St Anthony of Padua. Bought in 1904 by the current owner’s grandfather as a hunting estate, it presently covers over 1000 hectares, with olive groves, vineyards, woodland, rivers and arable farming land. Under the current owner, Luca Giannuzzi Savelli, the estate continues to be a working estate, and aside from cereal crops, produces a range of other products including extra virgin olive oil, fruit, prosciutto. Luca has renovated many of the farmhouses and cottages for long and short-term holiday rentals, providing a range of possibilities for guests, while also setting up the estate for events such as parties and weddings with the possible use of the consecrated Church. Aside from enjoying the beauty of the estate and local activities, Monteverdi is close to Siena, Montalcino, and the coast, and within easy day-trip distance of Florence, San Gimignano, Volterra, Tarquinia and Perugia. We also have properties in the Historic Centre of Rome and Cortina d'Ampezzo available for rent.
