We are deeply grateful to Ylenia Granitto and Olive Oil Times for this beautiful and thoughtful portrait of Masseria Santacatrini and of the people, values and passion behind our work.
To see our small family estate, at the foot of Sicily’s Climiti Mountains, described with such sensitivity was truly meaningful to us.
At the heart of Masseria Santacatrini is Giovanni Bonfiglio, whose vision and commitment are deeply rooted in a simple but profound belief: farming is not simply about producing, but about caring for a land that has been entrusted to us.
This land is at the centre of everything we do. The olive trees we care for, the work that takes place here every day, and our commitment to producing extra virgin olive oil are all part of a deeper relationship with this place and its heritage.
For us, producing olive oil is therefore about much more than a product.
It is about preserving what we have received, nurturing it with care and responsibility, and striving to leave something better for those who will come after us.
We hope this article will encourage more people to discover extra virgin olive oil not simply as a product, but as the expression of a territory, a culture and a way of life.
