Day 2636 — L'inizio dei rossi
🇮🇹
Day 2636: quel giorno dell’inizio dei rossi
E se qualcuno vuole alzare qualche cassa, ci trovate agli Occhetti! 💪

Day 2636: the day the reds begin
After 7 years, harvest is still something special.
Special because it is filled with contrasting feelings: tiredness but serenity, excitement but satisfaction, restlessness but calm.
You have to know how to live it. And if you do, harvest becomes all of these things at once.
I don’t always manage it, overwhelmed by the thousand things that need to be done, followed up and fitted together. But quite often, I stop for a second and look at what’s around me.
During harvest, for example, it can happen that your lame dog loves his grandpa so much that, even after you take him home twice, he just doesn’t get the message and comes back to the vineyard, probably thinking it’s the greatest game he has ever played. 🐕
During harvest, it can happen that your uncle, often gruff and sometimes a little difficult, comes to visit to soak up some of that energy that he may feel is slowly fading away, but that he knows he can find again, perhaps by simply changing his perspective.
During harvest, it can happen that you spend all day lifting crates, crushing grapes, jumping here and there, and at the end of the day you look each other in the eye, say “see you tomorrow” — still with a smile. 🍇
Of course, in the long run it can be tiring and exhausting. But if you allow yourself to embrace it, somehow it gets under your skin.
In short, everyone should experience a full harvest at least once in their life.
Well, tomorrow we start.
The Nebbioli begin. 🍇
And if anyone feels like lifting a few crates, you’ll find us at Occhetti! 💪
