Un tramonto può diventare un modo per conoscere un territorio.

A Pietravairano, sul Monte San Nicola, la prima edizione di ÈSPERO – Sunset Experience ha riportato il pubblico nel Teatro-Tempio romano attraverso archeologia, musica, paesaggio e produzioni locali.

La voce di Luca Ward, le performance, il patrimonio archeologico e, al momento del tramonto, i sapori e i vini di questa parte della Campania.

Tra le etichette territoriali scelte per accompagnare il percorso gastronomico anche i vini di Cantine Alois, insieme al Pallagrello e alle altre produzioni che raccontano questa terra.

Per noi essere qui significa soprattutto questo: contribuire a un racconto nel quale il vino non è separato dal luogo in cui nasce.

Il Teatro-Tempio di Pietravairano, il paesaggio del Monte San Nicola, il Conciato Romano di Castel di Sasso, le produzioni agricole locali, il Pallagrello e le persone che continuano a lavorare qui appartengono a una geografia che merita di essere conosciuta insieme.

È questa l’Alta Campania che vogliamo contribuire a rendere conoscibile: un territorio nel quale archeologia, agricoltura, cultura, accoglienza e vino possono diventare parti dello stesso viaggio.

Pontelatone in the international narrative of Campanian wine.

In his new report on Campania Stories 2026, published by WineAlign, John Szabo MS turns his attention to the province of Caserta and to a viticultural heritage that remains relatively little known beyond Campania: Casavecchia, Pallagrello Bianco and Pallagrello Nero.

The story reaches Pontelatone, where territory, grape varieties and soils become integral to Szabo’s reading of the area. Within this context, he explores the work of Cantine Alois and his discussions with Massimo Alois about the characteristics of the local varieties, how they respond to different soils, and their ability to evolve over time.

Particularly significant is the attention devoted to Casavecchia di Pontelatone DOC and to older vintages of Trebulanum tasted over the years, offering a perspective on Casavecchia that extends beyond its present expression to its evolution with age.

The same relationship between grape variety and place emerges through Pallagrello Bianco, interpreted in two distinct wines by Cantine Alois: Morrone and Caiatì.

Some wines build a journey that becomes recognizable over time.

For Caulino, the Falanghina of Cantine Alois, Japan has become part of that journey.

In 2020, Caulino Falanghina Campania 2018 received a Silver Medal at the SAKURA Japan Women’s Wine Awards, an international wine competition in Japan judged by female wine professionals.

Three years later, Caulino Falanghina Campania 2021 returned to SAKURA and was awarded a Gold Medal.

Two different vintages.
The same wine.
The same Falanghina from Campania.

And in the official SAKURA records, another name appears alongside Alois: Giraud Restaurant System, accompanying Caulino in the Japanese market.

The sustainability of a wine does not end in the vineyard.

For Cantine Alois, it begins with the land in Pontelatone, Campania, where we work according to the principles of Integrated Production under Italy’s SQNPI National Quality System.

But when a wine leaves the place where it was born, it enters a supply chain shaped by other choices and other responsibilities.

In Japan, our partner Giraud Restaurant System has developed its sustainability policy around energy and water conservation, waste reduction, recycling, food safety and people development. Within this same vision, Giraud has been directly importing Italian wines since 2017, discovering and introducing new Italian wines across its restaurants.

It is interesting to look at the same bottle from the two ends of its journey.

On one side, those who cultivate the land.
On the other, those who select, import and tell its story.

Between them is the journey of an Italian wine, from Cantine Alois in Campania to Japan through Giraud Restaurant System.
