Caffè Unimatic, Inc. Conceived in Brooklyn and born in Italy nearly half a century ago, Caffè Unimatic has a story to te

The story of the Unimatic begins with my Dad, a native of a small town in Italy who left home and settled in Brooklyn in the late 1940s. An entrepreneur through and through, he managed to do a little bit of everything over the course of his life, which ended far too soon in my estimation (two years ago, tomorrow). Fast forward to the present, his eclectic life and background made clearing out his

warehouse an interesting task. There, I found, neatly stacked from floor to ceiling, boxes containing about 5,000 models of a unique invention that he owned the patent on, had made over in Italy and marketed in both the US and Europe in 1960s. Rooms literally overflowing with these “drip-percolator” coffee pots, lovingly deemed “The Unimatic” both stunned and excited me. These (now) vintage little pieces of history, function in a very specific way (which was revolutionary back then) and are still (and maybe even more) relevant now! In my opinion, aside from the delicious coffee that they brew, the most compelling attribute is that they are the only ones of their kind left in the world. I am convinced that this treasure trove was his last push for me to jump into the waters of entrepreneurship and never look back. Since becoming the purveyor of these little gems, it’s been quite a journey, one that I’m excited to continue...

I used to take pictures of calm mornings sipping my Unimatic coffee. These days I have trouble keeping track of the mug. 🤪

This is one of my favorite photos from two years ago (?!) after you joined us earth side. It’s one of the last I have of my morning coffee, but one of the first with you, Miss Montana Rose. 🌹☕️

I’ve been lucky to feel gratitude wash over me so many times in this life, but never as much as these days. These crazy, chaotic, awestruck, lovestruck, fierce, humbled, exhausted, inspiring days of getting to be your Mama.

I’ve given talks on stages about choosing the title you embody in your life, about being given the title of “owner” early on and learning how to live and stretch into it. But the title of Mama, it’s one you can’t choose. It might be the only one that has to choose you.

I’ve always been such a big believer in going out and getting what you want (don’t get me wrong, I still am). But I now have a deep appreciation for the things in life that can’t be gotten. That no level of hustle can provide. Your smile, your giggle, being your safety and your best friend. Nursing you to sleep, getting to be the first face you see smiling down at you when you wake up, I hadn’t lived until I felt that love.

Coffee used to slow me down. And it will again. I’m eternally grateful for the years of conditioning, of learning to savor the little moments. Thanks to the Unimatic. And to BRAVE Conversations. They’ve been a lifeline to me in this crazy phase of becoming, unbecoming and unfolding.

Monty girl, Thank you for birthing me into a new chapter of love, devotion and expression. 🌹

To all the Moms and maternal figures out there, your job is the most important on the planet. You get hardly any credit, no wage, little thanks. But you get those giggles, smiles and access to moments that have the potential to fill your soul more than anything else in the world can. We’re the luckiest. Thank you for being. Thank you for the unspoken network of understanding in this wild ride of birthing and raising a human.

Raising my mug to you today and every day ❤️ even if it’s cold 😉. I know yours probably is, too. Happy Mother’s Day.

What are you getting the Mama in your life for Mother’s Day?

I bet she’d love some good coffee from a pot that invites the two of you to linger at the table for hours, talking, laughing… unless she has a toddler. Then she just needs caffeine (speaking from experience 😍).

Good thing the Unimatic works for both! ❤️☕️

What if celebrating love could simply mean making someone an extra special cup of coffee and enjoying it with them?

Psssst… it can.

All it takes is intention to turn tiny gestures into big expressions of love, care and support.

Our are experts at that, at turning tiny every day moments into big statements of love, meaning and values.

This week I was reminded why I do this work.
💬 I was on a call with Simon Sinek’s team, building content for 100+ hospitality leaders navigating uncertainty.
We walked through The BRAVE® Framework —
Be Present. Rapport. Active Listening. Vulnerability. Empathy.
— and how it transforms conversations.

Here’s what struck me:
Some of these leaders don’t just lead teams.
They lead families.
They run generational businesses where boardroom and dinner table are one and the same.

They don’t need another “professional” skill.
They need tools that work in every room.

That’s what BRAVE® was built for.
Because how you do one thing is how you do everything.
🫶 Use it in your toughest meetings — and your most important relationships.

🪑 Where do your two tables meet?

Dear Dad,
I always struggle to find words to describe what I feel on your birthday.
What I’d give to see you play with Monty.
What I’d give for you to spend a day with Brent.
What I’d give for one more conversation over ☕️ with you that starts at breakfast and tumbles its way into lunchtime.
What I’d give for you to see the love notes we receive when people adopt Unimatics or try one of our blends.
What I’d give for you to see the impact I get to have on leaders through BRAVE programs.
I know you’re still around. Because anytime I ask you to make yourself known and send me a sign, it arrives 🌹. I’m so grateful for those moments of connection. But I’d still give anything to look into your eyes and exchange a smile.
I get to share some words at one of my best friend’s weddings today. And not surprisingly they’ll be in Italian and inspired by you.
Raising my mug this morning and my glass later on to my Dad, best friend and fiercest supporter. Buon compleanno 🤍✨

Strong women.
May we know them.
May we be them.
May we raise them.
…and may we support their businesses and dreams ⭐️

I’ve always been an advocate for women.
I’ve started businesses to support them.
I’ve searched for businesses owned by them.
But I’ve gotta say, this year being Mama to Miss Montana Rose, International Women’s Day hits different. 🩷🥹

I’m excited about the day Monty and I get to sit down together and read the back of each of my coffee bags and talk about “who” they are and what characteristics she wants to embody that day…

I’m excited that days like today to mean even more than they did before, because I get to experience them with her.

And if you haven’t “met” our ☕️ blends yet, allow me to introduce you… swipe to learn more ➡️

Unimatic #1, you’ve been on the stove in my childhood home for 30+ years.

You witnessed all the memories, milestones, coming of age moments.

You were present for the conversations at the breakfast table that I had with my Dad.

You were sitting on the stove while I sat on the kitchen counter talking to Mom as she made dinner.

You served and inspired all who gathered at our table. Holidays. Sundays. Every day.

I’ve been sad about moving out of this house. I get how for some people, memories like this feel like they live in the walls of a place.

For me, I get to pick up my little Unimatic #1 and take her, and the memories she witnessed, with me.

Yes, I know memories don’t live in walls OR in a coffee pot, rather in my heart. But it makes me smile to know that this little treasure gets to come along for the next leg of the journey with me.

❤️☕️
