Appena sopra Sagrado, dove il Carso goriziano offre angoli di natura e di quiete impensabili, sorge l'Azienda Agricola Castelvecchio. La vista che si gode da questo altipiano (150 m. slm) è davvero unica ed abbraccia tutta la Regione, dalle Alpi Giulie al vicino Golfo di Trieste. ate ancor oggi dalla Villa rinascimentale della Torre Hohenlohe, dal suggestivo parco punteggiato di cipressi e dalle querce secolari della vasta tenuta boschiva. Attraverso gli anni, splendori e rovine hanno segnato queste terre che ancora oggi ripropongono la sfida di un terreno difficile, arido e roccioso, capace di donare, dai vigneti che sorgono nel cuore della Tenuta, vini di grande carattere. La Tenuta è dal 1986 di proprietà della famiglia Terraneo che, con passione e professionalità, ha saputo valorizzare questa proprietà di Villa Veneta, con grande rispetto per la sua storia ed amore per i frutti che essa sa donare. The Azienda Agricola Castelvecchio stands just above Sagrado, where Gorizia’s Karst offers an extraordinary natural and peaceful scenery. The view from this plateau (150 m. above sea level) is unique and embraces the whole region, from the Julian Alps to the nearby Gulf of Trieste. The rich landscapes blend marvelously with the noble, ancient origins of the area which is still embodied by the Renaissance Villa and by the park dotted with the cypresses and old oak trees of the vast forest estate. This land has seen splendor and ruin alternating through the years and still challenges man with its difficult dry and rocky soil, capable of producing wines of great character from the vineyards located in the heart of the estate. Castelvecchio has been owned by the Terrano family since 1986, and the family has enhanced it whilst greatly respecting its history and demonstrating a deep love for the fruits of the earth it produces.
