As I make my way back to Bordeaux for the 2025 primeurs, a quick throwback to February’s wet, windy, whistlestop trip to catch up with the crème de la crème of Bordeaux and taste some fantastic 2023s.

Professional obligations 😮‍💨

Ella, Tara, and Maggie recently headed to Champagne to present Wine Lister’s recent report on the region, “In victory and defeat”, and catch up with some of its leading producers. It was a tough schedule… the agenda included lunch with Anselme, Guillaume, and Caroline Selosse; a 10-bottle tasting with Nicolas Feuillatte’s Guillaume Roffiaen; a long-overdue catch up with Pol Roger’s Martin Heidsieck, Laurent D’Harcourt, and Damien Cambres; a wonderful introduction to Laherte Frères’s Aurélien Laherte; and lunch at Vranken-Pommery with Clément Pierlot. And, not forgetting, an unlikely but excellent takeaway Moroccan spot in Épernay, paired with a bottle or two acquired along the way...

The inaugural London edition of Benvenuto Brunello🇮🇹

We were delighted to collaborate with the Consorzio del Vino Brunello di Montalcino on the organisation of the first ever Benvenuto Brunello in London.25 Brunello producers gathered at Mayfair’s Dartmouth House to present their 2021 vintage, while Gabriele Gorelli MW hosted two masterclasses on the region’s latest developments.
